I hope Robby starts an Indycar team. Would love to see him start up an all American team with Graham Rahal (recently announced free agent) and AJ Almendinger.

Would be one fast Yankee team.

Well, since Ryan Hunter-Ray (sp?) is RG's Brother in law....that would be a little wierd.

Also - Graham Rahal is a free agent? He couldn't work a deal with his dad? also weird.

I highly doubt Robby would start a Indy car team. What would be more likely is the driver sponsorship side (ie Justin Lofton).

The story is that Graham is the one that wanted to leave Ganassi.

Also, Allmendinger is already part owner of the Michael Shank Racing IndyCar team that can't secure an engine lease. I'd imagine IF he went back into open wheel, he'd wind up there.

That would be sweet!

SST.

why start a team when you can start your own series ? :)

Indycar TV ratings suck, BTW.

The NBC Sports Network broadcast of the IndyCar race at Edmonton on Sunday afternoon drew 194,000 viewers in the U.S. according to John Ourand, Media Reporter, Sports Business Journal.

194,001

OK, I watch'd also.

Too bad the IndtCar ratings are low - the racing has been pretty good.

It's a terrible TV deal. The NBC Sports Network is not included of any basic cable/satellite package unlike ESPN. For example, Dish, Directv, and Comcast requires a mid-level package upgrade to receive NBC Sports Network.

Damn shortsighted of IndyCar and NBC when you consider that MSNBC, CNBC, and Bravo are included in nearly all cable providers base packages.

this is irrelevent to the main thread, but... we drove the 14 hours up to edmonton and had a great experience. no sport provides access to its stars the way indy car/champ car does. well worth the trip.
