Jan 11th, 2012 Dakar Rally Stage 10 Race Info & Discussion

Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 10 of the 2012 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon was the WINNER of stage 9 & is only down 5m58s in the overall standings. Nasser Al Attiyah did not finish stage 9, so he is out of the rally. Cars begin stage 10 at 7:44am/et (9:44am local). Raceday chat will be available throughout the entire 2012 Dakar Rally. COURSE OVERVIEW

The drivers will be overcome with even more intense sensations early in the morning. It is precisely at the beginning of the special stage that they will be deeply moved by a spectacular view, combining sand and waves, which continues for several kilometres. The theme will remain constant, since the most experienced experts will be able to surf on the dunes which stretch out for around a hundred kilometres. On the other hand, the difficult fesh-fesh area that will have to be tackled at the end of the special stage will bring everyone back to the tough reality of the long-distance rally.

If Peterhansel makes bad decisions he should suffer the consequences. It is becoming apparent he is feeling the pressure and his response is bad judgment. A win is a win, and I think RG would be happy to have it.

Of course he would love to have the win, BUT I don't see him going and crying to the officials over something that is not in his control... Now with the whole hitting peterhensel and not moving out of the way, thats a different story. BUT WTF!?!? This is racing! He picked a line to try and pass, and he didn't move.

Well if there were no rules then Robby would kick their asses but since there is and Robby has to obey them then prickhansel should as well.

Rule states very clearly if a faster car is behind you and using the pass sentinal you must adhear to the signal.

He was trying to pass Peterhansel and they were using the pass sentinals but Peterhansel would not let them by then sprayed them with rocks causing them to hit the ditch which blew 2 tires and broke the A Arm

Peter failed to yeild to the sentinel and Gordon lost two tires when he hit a ditch after taking a rock in the windshield. Had to beat one of the wheels off, that is why it took so long.

Apparently there is a technical issue that is under appeal currently where they decided they didn't like something on the car. No idea what though.

Yeah, not sure why the officials hav a problem now, RG said they presented it at scruitineering and it passed legally so not sure why officials have a problem this late in the game.

Robby needs to bring a little payback to Peterhansel but not to get himself in trouble just run as fast as possible over the last stages and make the minis earn it

in Robby's 1st Dakar he was called into a meeting with the officials for using the chrome horn
was told this is not the Baja 1000 lol
