From Jayski - This end of 2011 racing season keeps getting more and more crazy.

Red Bull Racing's five-year run as a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team will come to an end [Thursday], when the last of approximately 150 employees will be laid off and the competition shop shut down, presumably for good. After 284 Sprint Cup starts, over 106,000 competitive laps and two victories, the team informed its remaining employees this week that Thursday will be the final day of operation. A memo was distributed by the team's Human Resources Manager outlining severance procedures and establishing a schedule for exit interviews. After a brief team meeting &. the team will raffle off sheet metal, mementos and photos that have hung at the Red Bull shop and distribute cases of Red Bull to departing employees. "We know it will be a difficult day for everyone," said the memo, "as a large number of employees will be exiting the facility."(Sirius Speedway)(12-8-2011)

You said it all, I"m dumb struck--like wow man--gas on, I guess............

I agree, Michael. Well said. (Am I the only one here that understands you?)

Guess so, goes over my head everytime.

I really enjoy (and usually understand) what Michael writes. This was spot on,
Yeah, great points MM.

We never know when we could be in their position as employees

buzz kill

Love it when people bash government jobs, most of them would never take one themselves. Must not be as great as they say.

My guess is that Red Bull Racing Europe could not figure out how to transfer the F1 prize money to the States without getting hit with some sort of tax penalty or they needed it to pay Vettle and Weber.

The large corporate tax program in the US has serious flaws. The majority of the world taxes corporations on their global income, and gives credit for taxes paid abroad. The US has its own biggest tax loop in that they only tax the funds when it is brought into the country. This actually prevents US companies from creating jobs in the US. The other foundation of the broken economy is that over the last 25 years, people have stopped wanting to work for reasonable wages, the $50 an hour wage for a factory worker will not come back, so if you want cheap items at Walmart then you better like working for less.

We were standing around this little tiny teeny weeny sausage making get up the other night making what in reality is a basic old world recipe that puts all these horse shit, montage, mix and match, new wave, gourmet, eat with white gloves, varieties you see and hear about every so often when this time of year rolls around in their place. "Clara, you have to try this sausage Chet got at the market, it's soy and lavender and unbelievable. Why I almost shit when it hit my lips"! ( Clara did shit when upon entry to the intestinal track everything she had ate within the last year got the hell out of the way..........QUICK.) When, and as the conversation swayed back and fourth from Frank Zappas' Joes garage album to the economy to the Dakar rally, the government and other things not befitting this or any other board but rather is cemented in the world of "you had to be there" my friend said what could be the only intelligent thing to echo through the 27 degree air the entire night. "This country has the smartest people in the world doing nothing"

We can jam in joe's garage...classic

In the corner over by the Dodge!
