I have a source who said they talked to Robby directly.
Scott B any reason given for the change In direction( I.E. Not liking the Bull Run Rally stuff??)
Dakar wasnt in JEEPS budget for 2012. Economy. But I still expect to see RG at Dakar in 2012.
Thankx TOG. I take it RGM looking for another brand to put on the Dakar rig? Or they just trying to lock up the distribution for SPEED ENERGY in S.A..
Said he'd be there when we spoke to him at The Glen this summer.
I know nothing about this event and if it weren't for Rob, I would not even care. However, an inaugural event is going to have its share of challenges to overcome (Hello Kentucky speedway)

The problems here can be used as a learning experience for the next event Robby backs.
I would give anything to be up there racing or pitting. For those of you that arent familliar with racing in the "silt," its a whole new experience in patience and skill. Ive seen, and been in silt bed "gotcha's" that have swallowed up trucks in one swift punch! You either get right up on the bumper on the guy in front of you, or lay waaay back which in most racer's eyes is not an option. Keep one foot on the brake and one eye looking thru the guy in front, and wait for a place to make a pass. I have been involoved in a 15 car plieup in a silt bed many years ago in a SNORE race at the old Las Vegas Motor speedway just waiting for the car behind you to rear end you at speed. The worst feeling in the world is knowing in just a couple minutes, someone is gonna slam you at speed. Then the cars behind him and so on and so forth. You wait till at least you get hit three times before you get out. And that by itself is scarry! I wish I had photos from the "good ol days!"
On another note, sadly enough, I see the future of desert racing going to the "closed course" events like LOORS, and ect. Its easier for the sponsors to capture an audience, and the stinking BLM has little or no say so. I just hate sitting in the stands with a bunch of drunken morons. Where back in the good ol days, one could pack up the family truckster and trek out to the open desert, find a nice spot to watch from and make camp for the whole weekend, all the while enjoying a nice weekend out wit the fam., and friends!
Dump the liberal progressives next election and maybe some of these restrictions will loosen up.
Speed Energy would get more publicity sponsoring charity Bicycle Rides. I will be cycling in three charity rides over the next three weeks and not one of them have an energy drink as a sponsor in anyway. Cycling would be a great market for Speed Energy to get involved with. Speed could sponsor fifty or even hundreds of charity rides for what it is costing him this weekend. Speed Energy could be on every Jersey & T-Shirt that thousands of cyclist will wear over and over again . Continuing to promoting Speed Energy Drink.

CycloCross is fast becoming a major sport in the United States. The World Finals will be held in America for the first time ever in a couple of years. Robby and Speed should get involved in some way. If nothing else Speed Energy Drink should sponsor an american CycloCross Team to get some world wide exposure before and during the world finals.

Just some ideas.

Take care,
Bill
except that pesky little specialized issue from 2010 might prevent SPEED Energys involvement in anything bicycle related, nah mean ?
I’M sure the court only made him change the Speed logo. The courts can’t stop Speed Energy from sponsoring charity ride or race team that rides Trek or GT.

sure they can. and they have.
