Did anyone see The Speed Report on the Speed Channel last night? RG was interviewed in the garage area because ASO is supposed to be announcing today that the 2010 edition of The Dakar will be returning to South America. Robby said that Team USA will be returning and will be running a minimum of two cars but probably four. He said "We're a couple of weeks away from the final ink on the third deal and there's a lot of interest in the fourth car." Has anyone heard anything about this fourth car?

Bingo. Does it really matter where a driver is from If he is talented AND has sponsor $$$$$
Maybe a lil, IF you call your team Tean Dakar USA.
I dunno maybe I'm just confused by things like the olympics. ya know, team USA...all American.
The US Army, generally all Ameriacn. So, sorry Doug if a few of us were under the impression that TD USA would be represented by drivers from the USA.

Before anybody says it, yes I'm aware that the crepes boys live here now.
The name TD USA is still very relevant, even with foreign born drivers, as the team is based in the USA, ran by an American, running American vehicles, and the primary Hummer is piloted by an American. While I would like to see American drivers in the Hummers, I totally understand the decision to hire others. Besides the olympics and army both have people that are American citizens not necessarily American born people. So when you say "drivers from the USA" do you mean Live in USA, American citizens, or actually American born?
Doug, really man I'm not ignorant to the big pic. I just think it would be just for TD USA to showcase American talent on the world stage.
Don,t forget jean louis ?
what about a guy name tony stewart
It seems to me that over Robby's career he should have a pretty large network of american racers to maybe choose from. REP might have a good idea bringing on a guy from nascar who might bring some sponsorship money over with him. Casey Mears, Biffle, or Stewart may work out pretty good. Can boris drive offroad?
Ok I might just be talking crazy so forgive me if I am, but what about Travis Pastrana. He's athletic a little crazy and has been getting into rally. Im pretty sure he could bring some sponsorship dollars too.
Boris has raced that Baja 1000
The Hummer #4 could be for an argentinian driver with very good sponsorship! Believe it or not...
Just wait my friend. Many local drivers, and obviously local fans, saw the black Hummers as the Car of the Gods. And for sure many have contacted RG and RG contacted others. It´s just a question of time... and $
Any one heard if they will use the same frame / suspension or build a new Hummer platform.
