Robby has been looking into four wheel drive, but it's a lot more difficult than you probably think, unless he wants to run what everyone else runs (VW, BMW, SUBARU, ETC.) Trophy truck builders have been trying for years to make a four wheel drive that would be able to compete with the top trucks in the class, but still no one has been able to do it. To answer your question about using a modified TT, the first Hummer Robby used for the Dakar was an old Class 1 buggy chassis, and I'm pretty sure what he is using now is very close to that. I have a feeling if Robby doesn't have a very successful Dakar that he will bring something 4-wheel drive to the race next year, but it's really hard to make a powerful long travel 4-wheel drive that will take the torture of the Dakar. Not to mention the extra weight and money that is included with 4-wheel drive.
The fox versus the matador. Better than a all VW affair. 1st few days were expected to be tough for Robby, but even made worse with the weather. C'mon Robby, it has been a long time since a stage win, let get a few early and then lets see how a Rally unfolds.
Back on a plane back to states Tuesday night. Looking forward to no time difference with the Rally and following it live with all my friends at planetrobby.
thanks 7gason7
