European, and especially British, humor tends to be understated, dry, and witty. I you look up understated in the dictionary, I don't think you'd see RG's picture!

The reality is America doesn't care about DAKAR. We show a five minute summary at 2a.m. on an obscure second-tier cable channel. I suspect that if RG and Peterhansel were having a beer in the mess tent, Robby would say: "Look, the best rally drivers in the world are racing thousands of miles, in the most demanding race history has ever seen, for 10 grand and a trophy. If I can create some excitement, and develop some rivalries that will get America's attention, THAT'S GOOD FOR EVERYBODY". I think Peterhansel would agree... and so do I.

A lot of it is just Robby's personality being so loud and outspoken; not many others like that on the Dakar. The only ones who really don't seem to like Gordon or Peterhansel and maybe Roma. Most others seem to respect him. He seems to get along buddy-buddy with Chicherit, and even let Dirk von Zitzewitz in the Hummer.

A lot of it is just Robby being outside the norm of the Dakar; and honestly, most love him. Heck; Carlton Kirby constantly remarks how much he enjoys having Robby as part of the Dakar,

Lol MK its called JEALOUSY . They can't stand the fact that Robby can take his own designed vehicle and beat up on the unlimited funding and technology that the factory teams have .

Thanks for posting. With all those helicopters in the air, I was hoping there might be a few more videos from these folks.

Funny how Robby's personality is worthy of mention - and negatively at that. I've watched every video posted on the Planet for Dakar 2013. These videos do not support such an opinion. I see Robby positively - good editing I guess. Why does it have to be said that fellow competitors do not like Robby? I don't understand this. What don't they like? Is it because the man and car that finished 16th was still so interesting to watch?

So what's the word on the RGM team? When are they home? Is the Hummer based in Charolotte or Anaheim? Any plans for a welcome home from fans?

The one thing that always strikes me about the Mini's is that they are not the fastest in the race , but they are the most consistent.
