so the only way it would help is if the tires were inflated with nitrous to start with...... yea that did not happen..... if the ASO really wanted to get back at Robby they would hold the Appeal the same day at the Daytona 500 that would be about 3 weeks after right

Huh, Gordon states that the system allows faster draining of the tires. In that case it is probably that they tie release valve for the tires into the air intake, that allows the vacuum from the engine to suck the air out of the tires instead of having to let them air out naturally. Beats having to put a vacuum pump on them.

There are changes in 2013 to bring the Petrol and Diesel vehicles back onto a level playing field. A few years back FIA made some changes in order to promote diesels in long distance races, that is why the VW's came in with diesels and why you see the bit Le Mons prototypes running diesel engines. Next year new engine rules will go into effect with a change in restrictions and the weight requirements to help the petrol engines out.

he should just ram peter off the coarse and go home. if they boot robby (cause he's an american and the world doesnt like us) then i will never watch dakar again.

The Dakar regulars are miffed by Robby's speed. Robby's fast because this year he's achieved some longevity, and things are working for him - at least as compared to last year and earlier. No doubt some improvements have been made to the Hummer, but the basic Class-1 machine that it is, has always been fast.

One thing this year's Dakar has proven to me is that US off-road style of racing could rule the Dakar if they wanted to. No doubt in my mind now.

What show this has been. Thanks Robby. I think you can still take a stage or two.

The commentator said that the Toyota Helix is running under 2013 rules, and is at a disadvantage because of it. I wonder what's up for 2013? I was hoping for an unlimited class myself. I need to brush-up on the "spirit" of the Dakar. Seems I'm out of touch with "the mission."

Monster should be embarressed to be associated with that team.
