Hi Walt - I'm on the mend - how are you? Looking forward to RG getting into the race again, although 50th in points is not where he deserves to be - Damn recession. Missed RG on Wind Tunnel did you see it? Was disappointed he didn't do better at Baja - the guy just can't seem to get a piece of good luck. Keep in touch. Joan
Hey Walt - long time no hear! I had two retina tears and had emergency surgery on 2/23/12. They put a gas bubble back of the eye to hold the retina in place - it is just beginning to recede enough that I can see on the right side. While it was impeding my views, it was very annoying, sent me off balance, and I was blind-sided on the right for a while, couldn't tell if anyone was there and walked into a few walls. Seems to be coming along. I have added Bete Carotene to my diet - supposed to be for eye health. I had tears before, but nothing like this - this was the worst. Had the surgery at Wills Eye in Phila. (supposed to be the best). Anyway how are you? I love to get messages from planet people, even though Robby isn't doing NASCAR, I still love to know how the other people are doing. Are you attending any races this summer? I can't because I used all of my sick and vacation time - maybe next year. Good to hear from You. Hope you are well - have a great day. Joan
I never thought of our trees as being "really big trees" but some of them can be pretty impressive I guess. How do you think RG will do this year in the SCORE Championship? That would be awesome if he could win it again! A lot will be riding on the 500 and the 1000.
Hey Walt, how's things? They say NE weather can change at a moments notice. Case in point, this morning the weather was trying to impress itself by spitting snow! That has moved on now and things are trying to clear up! 70's later in the week!
Hey Walt, you got to see a great race with a good result for RG and team! Finally! We've had amazing weather this spring and the snow is long gone! Of course, that could all change in a day...! Take care, my friend!
Looks like like you enjoy south of the boarder too! Racing down there is just different. It's hard to get out of your blood once it's there. It' really great!
So your from Surprise, Az., my brother and myself just the other day was looking at a house for sale there on Evans rd. Are you close to the off road track?
I read Baja Bill's new blog about the port being built and a new rail line that may derail off-road racing at Baja. Sometimes progress is not in the best interest of all concerned. What is your take? P.S. Weather here doomed to change for the worse, if possible we are going to try and have dinner outside, but I was out at lunch and we had nice weather, but gale force winds. Joan
Hi Walt - We are supposed to reach 80 Deg. today, but not sure about that had T-storm this a.m. and it was raining when I had my car towed to the garage. It lost all antifreeze on Good Friday, had to rent a car for the weekend. Had a 2010 Kia, was not impressed. My poor '92 Merc Sable is really nice, but she's getting old and has had a lot of new parts lately. When you get to Baja again, things will be a littile different with that quake they just had, hope any friends you have there were OK. The Chile quake may change things for the Dakar in Jan. I don't know if that quake affected the route or not. A lot of shaking going on on this planet earth. Maybe the Myans are right and it will all be over in 2012. Who knows. Joan
WALT WE HAD A BITCHING TIME AT SAN FELIPE THANKS FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY AND THE MOST I REMEMBER IS HAVING A BEER WITH NEIL AND ANDY GRIDER TALKING ABOUT THE RACE THE DAY BEFORE THE RACE,,IT WAS AWESOME THEY R GOOD PEOPLE SO IS ROBBY AND THE TEAM....
