Hi Kathie - I shot an e-mail to Marchetta at Team Gordon re: hope they (everyone Robby, crew and staff) were not flooded out. Saw a photo in Charlotte Observer of a home in Huntersville with water halfway up the front door. Flooding was really bad. The cleanup is horrible. Well it's going to be hot in Calif. Robby's used to it, hope he does well. Keep in touch. Joan
Hi are you moved yet? I know what a pain that is. I read on RG's home page that they did kinda get the mess fixed and he ran for a time with no front end in order to pick up positions, but was black-flagged for slow diriving. He is struggling SO HARD to stay in the top 35. Joan
Best of luck in your new home. I hated it for Robby this weekend. He had two new sponsors and crashed. I know that's Bristol, but I felt so bad for him. Joan
Hi Kathie - well it's Thursday and Bristol is looming on the horizon. I've been reading the other blogs, about GEM giving RG only engines and no help w/tech or promotion. I knew that was a bad deal. Don't know what part RG played in that amendment. Maybe he thought the wasn't getting enough bang for his buck. No idea, they keep very quiet about what is going on. Let's pray for a good finsih this weekend. He can't afford to loose Jim Beam as a sponsor. Joan
Hi Kathie - Ian told me what happened - they had an electrical fire which put them a lap down, then one bad pit stop under green put them a 2nd lap down. I wish Robby could get that little black cloud that is following him to go away. Watched Mikey last night some fan gave him a furry monkey and he had it in his car and ran well with a good finish - Maybe RG needs one of us to give him some kind of voodoo or good luck charm and get that cloud dissolved. Joan
HI Kathie - must repeat your dog is so cute. Bad day at Michigan 37th. I have no idea what's going on - he had a good staring position and next thing you know he's laps down. Go figure. Cousin Carl did well, glad the Shrub didn't win - that was the good news, he will make a horrible champion - Kyle's attitude sucks. Joan
Hello again - I read yesterday in the Charlotte Observer.com that a couple from PA drove down to Waltrip's shop and got married there. Although Mikey was not in attendance, he had them come to Pocono and meet him and some of the drivers, etc. ... Some Honeymoon. Joan
Hi Kathie - I notced when he was interviewed, he had a large red bump on his right forehead, like he wacked it or was in a fight - maybe he should have a Dr. check him out. Joan
Hi r-699 (what is your first name?) I thought Chris, but was not sure. Funny story about the earplug! I was disappointed with RG's efforts, he has dropped to 31st in points after improving to 29th just a few races ago. I have no idea what is going on with the team, I think he sould make up with Frank Kerr and get him back proto. Also about that quote on Fuel mileage RG made - all I have to say to that is WHAT??? (If I want to know how many laps I get ona gallon - put in one gallon and run around counting laps till you run out) NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. Joan
Oh Drat- here we go again - rain has washed out cup qualifying that means RG starts 39th and on a road course that is deadly. I hope Walter can use strategy to get Robby out front ASAP. I was hoping for a good starting position to help RG win this time. Hope we have something to cheer about on Monday. Have a good weekend. Joan
It's 5:21 and I am leaving for the weekend - I can't believe Robby couldn't get his Dodge over 164.684 mph, even Bill Elliott was faster. I don't know if it's the engines or what's going on at RGM, but his qualifying is getting worse - not better.Joan
Hi R699 - Good one - gave me a laugh. You know I really feel sorry for those who were in the stands and paid all that money to see a caution fest. Of course, suck up Mikey said on SPEED last night that NASCAR did the right thing (perhaps) and the fans had a good race between Johnson & Edwards at the end. He's such a jerk. Joan
Yesterday sucked!!! That was not a race, it was a NASCAR farce. Poor Robby (if you read his home page) had tire issues all during the race, and came in for tires, and the caution came out to put him a lap down. He got back, but his comment was he just rode around trying to stop tire wear. He was afraid to race because if he blew a tire he wouldn't finish. Ryan Newman also complained - and others too, glad I didn't pay to see that "race".Joan
I Just left an e-mail to Caravello on his item on Tony Stewart. My e-mail read: Tony -" so BIG DEAL - No one made such a fuss when Robby Gordon went out on his OWN and I mean alone, no one helping him or offering him $$ to come on over. Nobody speculated how Robby would do when he left RCR. I'd have more respect for Tony if he had done it Robby's way." Joan
Hi a new week already - Your dog is so adorable!! I was busy last week too, but did check in occasionally. RG hasn't posted anthing new on the 'home' page all week. I placed a call to order some merch, but Marchetta has not responded. He's keeping us in the dark. Wish I could meet RG for more than an autograph minute and tell him from my old years of experience what he should be doing as far as PR is concerned. He should be doing all the things Junior did before Jr. left DEI - RG should be in commercials, and in mags, etc. He could amass $$ in no time, he does not realize that it's not his race team, but himself that sells, he is his own industry and he hasn't grasped that concept. What do you think? Joan
Hi there - I put up a blog today, but if you can get on NASCAR.COM there is a Jim Beam thing on right now and video of Robby. I asked if you were offended because I'd sent you a "not racing" thing called My Lilving Will - it was funny and thought you would get a chuckle. Also I had asked if you at any time worked for RG (not too personal I hope). Way back when I was in PR and advertising - that is why I wish Robby would do more self-promotion and get into commercials. It would help offset some of the financial knocks he had this year. I know this is long, but if you get the Scene I could not find RG in the photo with R. Petty. If you find him, let me know where he is standing. Love ya - Joan
Hi again, I left a message (I think yesterday) but don't see it here. If I offended you - let me know. Please keep in touch. I hope Robby wins at the Brickyard - that would be so wonderful for him, vindication of sorts. Joan
