As I said above, I met him in July '03, he won both road course races that year, but being so new at NASCAR, I didn't realize the significance of that at the time. I really became a fan by the fall of '03, I just love his tenacity. He is so intense, and he tells it like it is, he does not brown nose NASCAR or anybody else. On track, he is not careless, reckless, or goes out of his way to make trouble, but he does not take **** from anyone. I was thrilled to see him pitch his helmet at Mikey, that was the most exciting moment I've had at Louden!!!
It does seem that for awhile, he was picked out of the herd and held to a different standard. I pointed out one of the glaring instances that happened at Bristol in 2005, where the officials held him on pit road for 2 laps because the didn't like his "attitude" in a letter to the editor of Nascar Scene Newspaper, and they printed it, along with a really good picture of Robby's car. I cherish that photo!
I keep my headset tuned to Robby 90% of the time at the races, and enjoy every minute. Last year, while in line at his Souviener trailer for his autograph, I met his stepmother Sharon, she came over and introduced herself after my sister pointed me out to her as a huge Robby fan. We had a nice little chat, then she went and got Robby's Dad, and brought him over and introduced us, I thought that was really nice.
What type of racing do you like ?
Will Robby ever win the Dakar Rally ?
