Comment by Josh Fisher on January 1, 2012 at 8:48pm Honestly I always thought that RGs SPEED was just the US/North American distribution Rights of SPEED Unlimited since the original SPEED logo was pretty much identical to the SPEED Unlimited drink logo.
Kinda like a Vodafone/Verizon thing where Verizon owns a stake in Vodafone & Vodafone owns a stake in Verizon and they offer essentially the same thing just under slightly different names. In the energy drink case dropping the Unlimited from the US name because "Speed Unlimited" has been the name of an Auto Parts shop in the USA since 1967.
