I think I'd go with a next generation GM LS engine, if say, GM was about to come out with this engine, and Robby happened to arrange something really special (first to have it) with GM. You'd want something that was quite proven by GM. For example, this engine WILL BE in the 2014 Corvette. This kind of thing. This of course is assuming that such an engine exist.

Your motivation would be the power this engine produces - if such an engine exist.

Don't hear rumor in my post. I'm only answering the question, "Why would you use it?"

Understand that if GM is about to introduce an engine (especially a V8) in a production vehicle, the testing and proving is done.

I believe they are 39mm for production engine and 37.5 for modified engine!

Looking at the trans Albins has posted, looks like a GM bellhousing configuration. I'm with MK in why would you take an untried engine when you have something reliable!
That leads to my question! What can be done to a production engine in the way of modifications if any? Are teams limited to factory parts or can they be replaced with performance parts? ie crank, rods, pistons ect.

As for engine placement, do you guys think the HST engine is any more reward than the typical trophy truck set-up? If yes, then it has to be crowding back the cup-holders.

But man! What a cute little balanced out sprinter she is!

Wish I could draw. I'd create a cartoon graphic of the HST (think Lightning McQueen) jumping over a swarm of scared Mini's.

I don't remember a 43mm plate. Thought it is a 39mm ?

Mike, I'm with you. The tried a true LS7 with the 43mm restrictor, will not only get the job done, but it will fly!

However, I'm recalling something from someone regarding a next gen LS engine - might have been at RDC.
