o i agree completely, im part of a dirtcar race team so i know about R&D etc. etc. I was just saying it would of been cool to see since the VW's are so dominant. I think the hummers are plenty competitive the susp. travel and sheer speed make up for the lack of 4wd in my opinion. either way i'd pull for RG if he rode a tricycle in the rally!!

@Mark,who has one of these packages just sitting around, cheap, fast and reliable.4wd=short travel.Diesel=whole new drive tran development to go with engine development.Easier said than done.Any huge changes means development time.Fans where pissed Robby didn't spend every minute slaving on the "Cup" program.
I've been watching the highlights (videos section of the Plant) The package Robby brings to DAKAR is very competetive but with solvable mechanical (development time) issue's.

i really wish he would of just built an AWD vehicle w/a diesel but oh well, just gotta do more with less.

Thanks for the responses,
I just remembered Robby in 1 or 2 of the post day talks mentioning how they had spent the year preparing for a larger plate and when they got there, or shortly before they left, they were informed that that plate size had been reduced leaving him at a hugh disadvantage for top end speed.
So is they are indeed using the same size plate this year they can do some tweaks to gearing, carburation valve work that can pull more out of what they have to work with.
I guess we just need to hope there is not another last minute change.

Re: restrictor plate. The rulebook is available at Dakar.com. The section on T1 cars and the restrictions on them is in an appendix. I reads:

So, I think the Hummer will need to use the 35mm restrictor. I don't remember what it was last year.

Good Morning TOG,
Just a quick re-ask of a question.
I would like to know if there is going to be any adjustments to the HP/restrictor plate for this years Hummer.
I started a thread on this same question as well as asking in several other threads but have seen no response.
If you could answer the question it would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks.
Carl Abrams.

P.S.
I finally got my shipment of SPEED ENERGY DRINK.
I never drank energy drinks before so I can not compare to the others but I think the Unleaded tastes best followed by Fuel and did not care much for the Octane.
My son drinks E Drinks all the time and thinks Unleaded and Fuel are the best tasting E Drinks of all brands on the market.
Now we need them in the stores.

Have a good day.
