Hi Walt! I'll be thinking of you this weekend as we get ready for next week's Homestead finale. The end of every season is always bittersweet. Can't wait to put the pain behind me and look forward to next year, but I get withdrawals when it finally gets here! Have a great weekend.
Hey Walt..we actually just got back from Baja less than a week ago. Spent almost a week pre-running / playing in the dirt with the usual crowd. That reminds me, I got to add some pictures!
Have a great time! I'll miss it all since I'll be at the Homestead track all weekend but I'll be cheering RG on from there and trying to bring him some luck from this corner of the country.
I don't think any members are venturing to the "far edges of the country" as the tv ads keep proclaiming. Guess I'll have to be loud enough for the entire Planet! Hope to learn what Baja is all about in person some day.
Hey Walt - I know you must be busy getting ready for Baja - are you running a car or on a team? Will you be with Robby? I know Dave Despain is heading out also (I think its this weekend) - Have fun, hope Robby clinches the title. Don't drink too much Tequila. Safe trip - Joan
Hey man, thanks for all the Baja updates! You must have had a blast seeing the new SCORE Champ crowned for what - the 7th time? One of these days I'm going to join you south of the border. I have to say though that Rob did look pretty "done in" after the race.
The pics of the 1000 are great as are the ones from Glamis! Rob still loves to play in the dunes! As for Laughlin, we're still not sure and I've heard that it's scheduled right in the middle of the Dakar which would be a total bummer! I'll keep you posted!
One of these days we'll (Mouse and I) get the chance to meet you and I'm looking forward to that day. NH is indeed getting cold - 40's and I can't say I'm impressed by the whole thing. Are you going to the SCORE Awards shindig in Vegas? That would be fun!
Hello Walt , it's been a while since I stopped by , how's life been treating you ? I imagine you're getting ready to go down to San Felipe . I know we'll all be waiting to see your photos . =)
I can't even begin to imagine what it's like to try and get photos or video of Robby , that's why I truly appreciate the time and effort on your part to get them and share them with all of us . Thank you again Walt . It's too bad you didn't get to hang out with the team , but I bet your friend Martin had a great time .
I hope you're enjoying your rest and relaxation , I think you deserve it . :-)
Hey Walt! Thanks for stopping by to say Hello, and you are right, I have been awol on my posting for quite awhile now! I need to get better at it and get back into the swing of things! Hope all is well with you?? Weather has been nice the last few days here. In fact it is in the mid 60's here right now! Not as good as where you are, I'm sure of that, but for mid March in New England, We will take it! Thanks for posting all your pics and videos! Some day we will get out to see you!!! Take care
WALT WE HAD A BITCHING TIME AT SAN FELIPE THANKS FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY AND THE MOST I REMEMBER IS HAVING A BEER WITH NEIL AND ANDY GRIDER TALKING ABOUT THE RACE THE DAY BEFORE THE RACE,,IT WAS AWESOME THEY R GOOD PEOPLE SO IS ROBBY AND THE TEAM....
Hi Walt - We are supposed to reach 80 Deg. today, but not sure about that had T-storm this a.m. and it was raining when I had my car towed to the garage. It lost all antifreeze on Good Friday, had to rent a car for the weekend. Had a 2010 Kia, was not impressed. My poor '92 Merc Sable is really nice, but she's getting old and has had a lot of new parts lately. When you get to Baja again, things will be a littile different with that quake they just had, hope any friends you have there were OK. The Chile quake may change things for the Dakar in Jan. I don't know if that quake affected the route or not. A lot of shaking going on on this planet earth. Maybe the Myans are right and it will all be over in 2012. Who knows. Joan
I read Baja Bill's new blog about the port being built and a new rail line that may derail off-road racing at Baja. Sometimes progress is not in the best interest of all concerned. What is your take? P.S. Weather here doomed to change for the worse, if possible we are going to try and have dinner outside, but I was out at lunch and we had nice weather, but gale force winds. Joan
Hey Walt,
Looks like like you enjoy south of the boarder too! Racing down there is just different. It's hard to get out of your blood once it's there. It' really great!
So your from Surprise, Az., my brother and myself just the other day was looking at a house for sale there on Evans rd. Are you close to the off road track?
Ken
Hey Walt, you got to see a great race with a good result for RG and team! Finally! We've had amazing weather this spring and the snow is long gone! Of course, that could all change in a day...! Take care, my friend!
Hey Walt, how's things? They say NE weather can change at a moments notice. Case in point, this morning the weather was trying to impress itself by spitting snow! That has moved on now and things are trying to clear up! 70's later in the week!
I never thought of our trees as being "really big trees" but some of them can be pretty impressive I guess. How do you think RG will do this year in the SCORE Championship? That would be awesome if he could win it again! A lot will be riding on the 500 and the 1000.
Robby patient??? Those two words in the same sentence just don't seem to fit! The 500 is coming right up and I KNOW he's looking forward to running in the desert! We'll keep a good thought...!
