Hi Lynda! I'm hanging in and holding on . LOL I guess we should be happy that it's not as hot as it's been in other places , but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with . Lucky Kesi , at least she gets to stay cool . Sounds like things are going great for you at work. Being busy is a good thing , and good for you about the job security . Hopefully the weather cools down enough to make it a bit better for you in the shop .

I agree about having aloe plants to use for burns , we use to have some , but it's been a while, need to get at least one . It is amazing stuff because of all the uses for it . Hope it keeps your back from blistering .

We've gotten several rain showers today , and it has cooled down a little , still humid though . They say temps in the low 80s Sat and Sun . I'll take it ! I know what you mean about your brain melting , though it is worse for you being in the shop. Hang in there , this heat can't last forever . I hope you're having fun with your friend . Hi Lynda! Yes , I am enjoying the cool down, though it was a bit warm today , and the humidity is on the way up again , supposedly for one day only. The weather this year has been like a ride on a roller coaster, up and down , and with a lot of twists and turns thrown in. LOL

That's too bad about your plan to go the Glen on Friday . Wasn't there any word that the schedule was going to be changed ? One would like to think there was at some time or another .

The race on Sun. was disappointing to say the least , what can you say that hasn't already been said ? You get the feeling that Nascar doesn't give a damn about the small teams , but you can bet they will when the day comes when they are all gone . How do you suppose they'll handle that ? I say no better than they're handling things now .

Glad to hear that Kesi 'survived' her rough day . She's got a very good mother , who I'd say gives out very good advice . =) I'm also glad to hear that it's been better for you at work, it's always easier to work when its cooler . Do you suppose that the reason why you like your job so much is because you got out of that place you were living in , and are now living in a much nicer place ?

Hi Lynda! I haven't been doing too bad , how about yourself ? Yes it is hot here , yesterday was the worst day so far this week, hot and steamy . No need to apologize , I know you are busy with work and Kesi , plus your garden , and whatever else you have to do . It's all good , stop by when you can . =)

I sympathize with you about having to do three jobs at the same time . I know women are supposed to be able to multi-task , but sometimes it's too much, especially now with it being so hot . All I can say is hang in there , this heat can't last forever. There's one thing you left off your thankful list , your health , you haven't said anything about being sick in a long time . That's a big thing to be thankful for IMO .

As for the N'Wide race , robby at one time was going to do it , but he changed his mind , deciding to concentrate on the Cup race . TOG said the schedule this weekend is like an impound race weekend , only thing different is the cars aren't impounded . At least you'll get to see him race on Sun. There are a number of drivers that I would like to see do well , Patrick Carpentier , Ron Fellows , Boris , Jacques V., just to name a few .

Hi Lynda! I'm glad that you had fun at the Glen . The N'Wide race was pretty good IMO , a bit better than the Cup race . That just totally sucked for Robby yesterday , but there's nothing to be done except get ready for the next race . I sure hope when he goes to Montreal nothing bad happens to the car .

Weather here was a little cooler for a day or so , but it's heated back up , high near 90 tomorrow , with the threat of T-Storms for the rest of the week . Oh well , it's making the plants in the garden grow like crazy .

I just want to give you an update on my brothers stepson , he's awake , alert , and they have him up and walking , with help of course, and he's been having trouble speaking , but is doing better with that. I hope the boy knows how lucky he is , and hoping he has learned a valuable lesson from this whole ordeal .

RGM are both S&P today , as I type this they are both out of the race now . When you need money you do what you gotta do to earn it . Hopefully this won't happen too many more times this season , but it's not looking promising.

The weather has been very good for the garden , we've been eating a lot of green beans , plus yellow squash , zucchini , some tomatoes, and some peppers . I'm waiting for my baby bells to turn red . =)

My brothers step son is going to be sent home on Sept 8th. The reasoning behind this is they don't want to him to get discouraged about his progress . He's having trouble with his right side , from the ATV landing on his neck, things like putting a fork down on the table . He's having trouble controlling his arm movement . It's almost like what a stroke victim goes through during rehab . I do hope he'll be smarter after all of this . He just celebrated his BD a few days ago , I hope he realizes how lucky he is to have been able to have it .

Hi Lynda! My week wasn't too bad , things here are kind of like living in a pressure cooker , you never know when it's going to blow . Seems like someone is always mad about something . I'm calling this the 'summer of my discontent' . =) What happened to the person who was helping you out with Kesi ? Yes , the summer has been going by at a pretty fast clip , even though it's been so hot and humid at times , I'll miss it a little when fall gets here . All I have to say about you joining Facebook is this , be careful about your personal info you put on your page . It seems that every few weeks or so there is an article on the Internet about someone hacking into what is supposed to be a secure site , and getting into members personal info . Protect yourself as best you can when dealing with any type of social networking site . Have fun staying in touch with your classmates .

I'm hoping that Robby does well in Montreal this weekend , at least it's not a S&P race this time . I'm hoping he does well in the upcoming off road races too , but with his luck this year , who knows . At least his chances are somewhat better there than they are in Nascar .

Hi Lynda ! Sorry it's taken me a while to reply to your message , it's been so noisy this week with dogs barking , people yelling , noisy vehicles in and out at all hours of the day and night . I need a vacation from all of the noise! LOL As for what has been happening , not much , just keeping busy by doing things that need doing . Since it's that time of year when tomatoes are ripening, we now have a LOT of them and need to start figuring out what to do with them .

It sounds like you have been having a lot of fun , and I bet when Kesi goes back to school she'll have a lot to tell her classmates about how she spent her summer .

The race on Sun. was great , once they got past all of the cautions . It sucked that Robby ran out of gas , but it sure was fun watching Boris and Max race side by side at the finish . I wish there were more races like that ..(SIGH).. but the rest of the season will most likely be more of the same old same old .

As for FB , as long as you don't give detailed descriptions of the places you go to or too much info about any part of your life , you should be okay . With these social networking sites you need to guard your privacy as much as possible, as you can't really trust people too much . I think it's a sad thing when you have to be on guard almost all the time . Stay in touch with your friends , but if you need to make plans to meet up with them , you'd be better off doing that by phone or email , IMO . I think the important thing is that you have fun while you're on their site . Enjoy reconnecting with your friends .

It's been rather hot here this week too , but a cool down is coming on Sat. We had a taste of fall last week for a few days , but it was nice, so this weekend won't be all that bad for me . Hope you're having a good week.Until I hear from you again , take care and TTYL ! Sherri

Hi Lynda! I'm finally back from 'hiatus' , which means computer trouble again. Hi Lynda! It's good to be back on the Planet , a lot has happened over the past two months , it takes a while to get caught up . I'm glad that all is good up your way. How is Kesi doing in school ? Has she gotten the chance to tell her classmates about the things she did over the summer? I would think they would be interested , but I could be wrong. =) How are things at work , is your boss keeping you busy ? Have you gotten everything in your garden picked yet ? I'm pretty sure we have everything out of the garden here , but there could be somethings hiding somewhere. They say we might see some snow this weekend , I hope not , I'm not ready yet. LOL

As for the peaceful moments , they didn't last , but then that's pretty much par for the course here , if it lasted I'd probably be worried . =) My brothers GF said she was going to bake a cake for my BD , but because of what happened last week, she's not going to now . Geez , I'm so upset about that ...... NOT !! I don't want or need anything from her , there always seem to be strings attached . I don't have the time to play her little games , she needs some help with her mental health , IMO .

No, you didn't miss my BD , it's not until the 12th, but thanks anyway=) I know you would bake me a cake, and I truly appreciate that, my sister is baking one for me, so I won't be without one . One thing I've found is that having a BD in November means you never know what kind of weather you'll be having. I understand about not checking your page , I was gone for a while . I've been checking in from time to time to see what is being discussed , or if I have any messages to reply to . Yes , the Sharks are playing , they win a few then lose a few . I guess it's taking them a while to get into a groove where they play consistent hockey.

I remember the cat cake from last year, you sent me a photo of it in an email along with a few other pics of Kesi. I see no reason why you can't make a lion . You have the talent to create that lion, and I bet it will be the best looking lion ever. =) I hope Kesi has a great BD.

As for the hunting , yes, I have three brothers who do . My brother Bill, the one with the garden, got one recently during archery season. The gun season for deer starts next Monday here. I don't like this simply because of the fact that you don't know if a stray bullet is going to come flying out of the woods, whether you're in your home, or on the highway. I'm always glad when the season ends.

I'm glad that the Nascar season is now over , looking forward to Dakar . How about you ? It was nice to see Todd Bodine win the Truck Championship , and Brad K win the N'Wide. Who knows what that series is going to be like next year. Not happy that JJ won again , but what can you do ?

Yep, I am a big square peg , don't really fit in anywhere , but I've come to embrace being different . LOL

Hi Lynda! My weekend was pretty much the same as any other weekend , just did laundry and cleaned house , and on Sunday sat on my butt and didn't do much of anything . I've been having trouble sleeping , add to that my allergies and sinuses, needless to say I'm not at full strength. =)

Good for you that you're getting out and doing things with your classmates ! Since I may be one of the few who knows how tough it was for you for a time , I think you more than deserve some fun . It also sounds like your workmates have 'accepted' you as a co-worker . In some places being asked to have a beer after work is a big sign that you're one of the 'gang'. All I have to say to you is , Enjoy Yourself !

I'm actually not having the post race season blahs , I guess it's because this years racing was so ho-hum and at times downright boring , I'm glad it's over . I'm hoping December goes by fast so that we can get immersed in Dakar and all the videos and photos and reports !

Hi Lynda! I'm really happy to have a computer again, as it was very hard going without one. I don't know about the place not being the same without me. LOL

Yes, Robby's year hasn't gotten off to a very good start , but hopefully he'll have better luck with Nascar. I would say he's getting some good exposure for his drink, there are a large number of members here who have tried it and said they like it. As for drinking energy drinks , I've tried Monster, I have to say I can live without them. I prefer coffee, tea , a soda now and then, and of course plain old water.

The Sharks have been pretty sub par this season , tho' they have won 3 in a row. They're going to have to work hard in order to get a good seed in the play offs.

I wish you luck on your search for a new place, and that you find the place that has the things you want.=) Are there a good number of places for rent?

I'm hoping to be around for a long time , computer willing. lol Speaking of being missed , do you know that SC is no longer a member of the Planet? To me, his absence makes this place not feel the same.:(

Hi Lynda! Yes, I'm getting the heat wave, at least until the weekend. The only bad thing is the mud , every time the dogs go out they track it in and I have to mop the floor, over and over. =( I know you'll get a pic to me when you get the time , don't sweat it , I'm not going anywhere.=)

As for the chicken's attire , Spotted Cow did the work of changing the shirts, since he's no longer here , I guess the hen is stuck in her Dakar shirt. I don't have Photo Shop , so I have no choice but to keep what I've got . It could always be worse, she could still be in her JB outfit. LOL

Things here are okay, at least for now, and somewhat peaceful. Hope it's been a good week for you , and that the weekend is a good one. TTYL Sherri

Lynda, I can actually say 16th was a disapointing finish for RG in the 500 after running "up front" all day. I was without tv and internet for a while but got a new converter box for the tv the morning of the 500. lol PJ has started school and work is ok Gas prices suck...How are you and Kesi? Billy

I know Spring is coming, I'm just being very impatient, been cooped up all Winter, and feel like an animal that's been in a cage .=) The race today was kind of boring, Robby got caught up in a wreck on lap 67and the car was pretty damaged. They took it to the garage and made repairs, he came back out a lot of laps down. I'm not exactly sure of just where he finished , back in the 30's I think . Another good car , and another disappointing finish...... such is the world of racing. Oh well, on to Vegas. TTYL ! Sherri

Hi Lynda! PA is windy and quite cool, as it is going to rain . Hope work on the school project went well, and as for Dr Suess's BD, it was on Wednesday. Did you both enjoy the book reading and the dinner? I hope you get your heat problem fixed , it's not a good thing when you are without heat. You should look into getting an electric heater, they come in different sizes, and some are really affordable. It's nice to have one in this kind of situation.

Hi Lynda! What happened is Robby just did not have a good car all day, and to top it all off, he ran out of gas. On to San Felipe, where he at least has a great chance to win.

That sucks about all the snow you got, didn't get much here. Of course we are under a flood watch tomorrow until Thursday as there is more rain headed our way. Yippee! lol

I hope the heater is still working like it should, warmer weather is still a ways off. As for my MIA friend, no , I still haven't heard anything. =( The thing about worrying about people is they don't seem to like it , some actually seem to get mad . Go figure.... Hi Lynda! Yes, the warmer weather was here today. I thought I heard a robin chirping the other day but I didn't see one, so it could be I imagined it. LOL I always like to see the 'warm weather' birds show up. I also wait to hear the peepers for the first time, doesn't really have anything to do with the arrival of spring, but it's kind of like tradition in these parts.

Lets hope there is no more snow , only warmer temps and lots of sunshine.

Hi Lynda! No, didn't get any snow yesterday, it was a stormy day, started out with a severe T-Storm watch that became a warning, then became a tornado warning. Lucky for us that we only got thunder, lightning, rain and hail stones. There was a place just outside of Pittsburgh that got hit by an F2 tornado, lots of damage, but no was killed or seriously hurt. It is that time of year.... Hope you didn't get too much snow and it melts quickly.

The maple festival sounds like a lot of fun, enjoy yourself. =)

As for Robby racing after this weekend, I guess he will be at Martinsville according to the talk on here. Stay tuned for further info...lol What happened on Sunday is there was a competition yellow at lap 50, most drivers pitted, but the decision was made for Robby to stay out to gain track position. Long story short, there was a long green run and Robby was out there on old tires, the right front went, the car hit the wall and that killed the car, so they made the decision to call it a day. Robby's luck so far hasn't been the greatest, but he at least is trying different things to try and get something that works. Hopefully there will be a bright spot soon. =)

There won't be a truck race until April 2nd, they have the strangest schedule in Nascar. Sorry to burst your bubble. =) Take care and TTYL ! Sherri

Hi Lynda, the weather here has pretty much sucked for the past week , still waiting for warmer temps. =) I sure hope both you and Kesi are feeling a lot better.

Yes, Robby will be racing all this month, as for what is happening starting in May, I haven't a clue. He's being sponsored by Fast Five, which is the name of a new movie coming out on the 29th. I was happy with the result at Martinsville, and am certainly hoping for continued 'luck' at Texas.

Things here are about the same as usual, my uncle passed away suddenly 3 weeks ago, and I guess you could say I'm still coming to terms with that. I'll try to keep you up to date on the garden, as of now the carrots have started growing , as well as the radishes and peas. I'll be so happy when it finally gets warm enough to get the other plants in the ground.... thinking about peppers, zucchini , tomatoes etc, etc. Are you still thinking about growing some plants in containers, or have you changed your mind? It will be a shame if you can't grow at least a few things. Have you been looking for a new place , or haven't you had the time ? I know you have your hands full with being a parent and working full time, hope you're still finding some time for yourself . =)

Hi Lynda, sorry it's taken a while to get back to you, I've been trying to get a little spring cleaning done . It's been tough with the rain we've been getting to keep things clean, but I'm nothing if not persistent. LOL How about Robby yesterday finishing 20th, with a lot of help from Casey Mears. He also made it through with very little damage to his car. That , IMHO , is what he needs more of this year , good runs with good finishes, with little or no damage to the car. Cup guys have the weekend off , but there is a Truck and N'Wide race .

As for the Sharks, they won their division and finished 2nd in their conference. Right now they are tied with the Kings 1-1 in their series, game 3 is tomorrow night. I'm hoping they play a whole lot better than last game , they totally sucked!

Enjoy the sounds of the birds in the morning , I do here all day long . Well, I don't get to hear ducks , and I haven't heard any turkeys in a long time , but I do get to hear a lot of other birds. I also get to watch squirrels out on my front porch as they eat the food we put out for the birds. There are at least 4 of them that come in , and they are very cute. =) We don't chase them away like a lot of people do, we figure they have as much right to eat as the birds do. I don't see where the birds are all that bothered by them , they eat right along with them.

Yes, we were in the tornado watch area yesterday, thankfully nothing happened here. I feel awful about those in the south, especially Alabama , boy did they get it bad. I hope this is the end of bad weather for a while , this month has been terrible.

The Sharks won their series against LA , now it's on to round 2 and Detroit . This series is going to be a tough one and the Sharks need to be on top of their game. Game 1 is tomorrow night, GO SHARKS !!!

It really stinks that you have to miss races. =( I too like the night races as well as the road courses , wish there were more of them. I hope you find a place that has internet access and a washer/ dryer.

Just a thought from me, have you looked at foreclosures in the area ? There could be something there to your liking , and just maybe in the price range you have in mind. Of course I have absolutely no idea what the going rate for a house is in NY, although I do know that here the prices are a bit high. Hi Lynda ! Robby's weekend went like I had the feeling it would, he broke something, which seems to be the theme for him this year. Oh well, one of these days things will go his way. You gotta take of yourself girl, your health is the most important 'thing' you own ! I hope everything clears up before your camping trip, not much fun to be had if you don't feel well.

That is sad about your workmate, she won the fight with cancer but lost to the cure, life is sometimes too cruel.I hope Kesi didn't take it too hard.

I am enjoying the warmer weather, though not the prospect of severe storms, way too much death and destruction already this year because of the weather. All I can say is Mother Nature is really pissed and she's letting people know . On a lighter note, I guess I'm going to have to get my summer clothes out of storage as it's pretty warm right now. Hi Lynda ! I don't think you've really missed all that much the past two weeks, as Robby wasn't in the 7 the past 2 races. He did go to Baja, and he did finish the race, which IMO , was a victory of sorts. =)

Yes, I did get the summer clothes out, but this week is a lot cooler, more like early Spring. It's supposed to warm up by the weekend. Yay !

Hi Lynda ! Don't be too jealous of me , just think what you'll be able to do when you get a place of your own. I'm kind of envious of you being able to do the farm share thing, we don't have that here, at least I've never heard of it.

As for Daytona, some seem to think that an audible might be called and just maybe Robby will decide to race. Anything is possible these days, stay tuned. lol IMO nothing will stop Robby from racing at the Glen, rain or not.

I really hope that Kesi doesn't have a peanut allergy, what that would mean in terms of how vigilant you would have to be about what she eats is enormous. I can't even imagine being allergic to bee stings, so I hope you can get that taken care of too. Keep me posted ,okay ?

Hi Lynda ! No, I don't have any plans. =( I really don't know where all they have fireworks, Clymer had them a week ago after the fireman's get together they had . People around here mostly buy firecrackers , which as you know are just a lot of noise. Hope you and Kesi have a great time .

Hopefully work will pick up so you will no longer be bored. lol I do understand what you mean about using your brain.

As for Robby and the race last night, since he decided at the very last minute to run the full race he had no drafting partner , so it was a scramble to find someone to work with him. The team also messed up on a penalty they got for their gas can leaving their pit , it was a stop and go , but Miles told Robby it was a pass through , so by the time they got that taken care they were then 4 laps down. If Robby had made his decision to race sooner , he might have been able to find someone to work with that would have maybe helped him to get a better finish instead of 34th. It seems to be the little things that are doing the team in these days , one only wishes they could get everything turned in the right direction. I guess it's something positive in a way that he's in the top 35 in owners points. With all of this S&P stuff and other things this year it's hard to be positive about anything. Oh well , what can one do but continue to hope for something good ?

It's good to hear that work has picked up some and that Kesi is having fun, so that's two positives in your life. I don't have any advice on what to do about being hot and tired, other than having an air conditioner in your bedroom so you can get some restful sleep. As for what is going on in the world, not much in the way of good things, it seems all the news these days is bad news. Sometimes I think we'd be better off not knowing what is going on. I find myself from time to time envying those who haven't got a clue about anything, they seem like they're perfectly happy. =)

Hi Lynda ! My weekend was good , had some of my family here for a while on Sat., hadn't seen them in a while.Hope you had a good one. I think hot is a gross understatement !! I most definitely do not want this weather, but what can you do ? All I can tell you about this heat is 'stay hydrated' , drink plenty of water or Gatorade !! I read somewhere once that being dehydrated can make you feel tired and lethargic . Take care of yourself girl !!!!!

Good luck with the mortgage paperwork, that can be an adventure . Lynda, you can't beat yourself up about not getting everything done , you are after all only one person, you'll eventually get stuff done. I hear and understand about the day late and dollar short , that's the kind of life I'm living. LOL

Yes, Scott did an impressive job on Sun., kept the car on the lead lap until almost the end of the race. Not too bad since it seems no one really knew if he was going the distance or not. Hopefully Robby stays in the top 35 , since it could very well rain at the Glen that weekend. With the way the weather has been so far , anything is possible it seems .

Hi Lynda ! Sorry that you are disappointed , but that's been the way this year has gone. It all comes down to money , or rather the lack of it. After the past 2 races, I'm almost afraid of what might go wrong with the car , but you can't say anything about that these days it seems. On the bright side , the N'Wide race will still be a good one, even without Robby in it. It is after all The Glen , I don't believe it's possible to not enjoy the race. So , my advice is to go and have the best time you've ever had. =) TTYL
