2006 - you have gotta admire the guy! He is the epitome of a racer with all the drive and determination and talent. Even more of a fan after learning about Dakar and following his efforts there the past two years!

Well, I am about over my funk from the WG NW race - after being super hyped up about Robby's chances there, so I ready to move onto the next race and hope for the best. ;-))

Everyone wants to keep there job no matter what these days. His crew chief , car chief and everyone else that works for him are all biting there tongue , lips and nails. If only someone would just tell Rooby that he needs to points race the rest of this season and really try to move up in the points. Making the Chase is impossible but finishing out the season in the top 15 can happen if he STOPS driving so deffensively!
What's really sad is , the only time that the media really talks about Robby is when they go to a road course.
If Dale Sr. were around today , he would more than likely grab Robby by his neck and tell him to KNOCK IT OFF ALREADY! Save your cars if you want to finish a race. A race on the lead lap. Hit them but be smart about it. Don't do it in such a way that you will have to come down pit road and fix your hit. Don't hit them enough times to get Nascar's attention or the media's. You do that , you run the risk of getting a penalty etc.....I honestly believe this to be true.
There is alot more I could say here but I don't want to take up your whole comment area. I initially looked for your "private messages" to click on but you do not have it out.
Don't give up on Robby. All that we can hope for from here on out is for him to finish each race on the lead lap , move up in the points , finish out the season alot higher in the points and for him to start off the 2010 season at Daytona in the top 5-10.
Cool! We'll only be in the fan zone for the Duels on Thursday but a few other planet folks won't get there until Friday so maybe we can figure something out for before the trucks.
The only problem with Daytona is that it's so huge that to get anywhere from anyplace else is quite a trek. I'll pray for no rain for you. We were in the backstretch for the 500 one year and had to park in that cow pasture. It rained most of the day, the race was shortened. When we got back we thought we had parked in a lake. Never been to a July race because as you know, it's too darn hot! We got reserved seats for the trucks this year from StubHub, actually cheaper than gen admin. So we'll be somewhere near the Petty Tower, towards the Turn 1 end of the track. I'm sure we can find somewhere to meet. Still gathering the locations of a couple other planet folks who will be there so we'll post something once we get it together. Can't wait to enjoy a race with other Robby fans! We're such a rare breed at any track...
Sorry we couldn't connect Karen, it would have been nice to meet you. Hope you guys found a way to warm up and got home safe. I think this was the coldest 500 weekend ever! Come on down to Homestead for the finale, I promise it will be warmer down here.
We're thinking about the Pepsi 400, other than that no serious plans until Homestead. It's hard owning the business, summer is our busiest time. We've been trying to sell and once we do, get an RV and hit the circuit. Right now it remains a dream! I'm in Indiana with my daughter and her family until Monday. They're not race fans so I'll be sneaking to my laptop Saturday night to get updates every once in a while. Trying to bring her kids up right, though. Been buying the boys Hot Wheels since they were born. They know who Robby is! Have a blast, and cheer loud enough for both of us.
