A track visit would be nice, but we'll be in northwestern Indiana near the Michigan border. My son in law works at Notre Dame so family lives in the South Bend area. Hi Srah - thanks for the cute pot o gold & rainbow - so busy here needed a smile. Well yes - yesterday was St. Pat's and we did go out, but instead of an Irish bar we went for pizza and beer at one of our favorite restaruants - they have awesome pizza. It was a good day, even though I did not leave work till 5:35 and got home late. I could work for 3 days from 9-9 and still not get caught up. Hi Sarah you have a great weekend too, weather supposed to be great. If you check out RG.com there is a great photo of the San Felipe race. Actually Walt Pendelton has some great pics on his page as well (he went there). Robby is 26 pts. behind Andy McMillin, but that can change. He admits that Andy will be tough to beat. He's doing the Baja 500 in June. I find I'm following him more on the off road than NASCAR. Keep in touch - check out Walt's pg. Joan

Neither sport is big down in the islands where I live but I stay on top of everything. Always wanted to be a sports writer when I grew up and followed absoultely everything. These days it's mostly racing and football. With all of Robby's different racing types it can be a full time endeavor just following him! Since my son in law started working at the college, I do follow Notre Dame sports now. Their hockey and basketball teams have been much better than football lately! Outside of last night of course...

It's 4:37 Fri. and I was checking the leaderboard on qualifying. When I first looked Robby was 26th, then he dropped like a rock - next peek he was at 32nd. Scott Speed was last qualifier and knocked RG down to 32. Not sure how he will do this weekend, in practice I see his speed was like 29th. Joan

Okay, so Ohio State & West Virginia still in the big dance. Wouldn't it be funny if the were the final two? Not likely to happen, but I would talk a lot of smack! Enjoy the rest of your weekend and drive home safely.

Well luck was on Robby's side this weekend - that big wreck with Biffle, Mark Martin and Jeffy really did a number on a lot of cars. The board said "involved in the wreck Robby Gordon" (it should have read Jeff) Robby was behind and was able to slow and almost stop before hitting anything, he may have bumped, but that's all. With so many out and damaged, he actually ended up in the top 25 and came up two points to 34th in the standings. I hope he gets that same lucky cloud next week, eough of the doom clouds over his car. Joan

Hey how have you been? Robby's day sucked at Martinsville. I read the report on Bam's site, he just can't seem to get a good break! Looking forward to 80 deg. temps here over the weekend! I would love to get away, but my old car won't go too far. I know I have to get a newer one, but hate to part with one that has been so faithful through thick and thin. L just hate to part with her. Hi Sarah - per your page I know West Virginia is a state - but for the longest while my daugher did not know that Washington DC was not the state of Wasington. I think she was in 6th grade when we enlightened her. Our schools have failed. On another note Robby has written or at least written to photos of the 2010 Dakar. The paperback is around $45 - kinda steep, but I know he needs $$. Not sure I'll purchase it or not, definately will buy Chris Newman's new book Pit Pets. We have her last book it's full of photos of drivers and their pets. Also some of the proceeds go to the no-kill shelter in Mooresville.

Hi Sarah - I wish the govmt. would crack down on the employers. This mine has been cited for safety violations and I guess the owners feel that miners are dispensible, in lieu of fixing the violations. Mining is not safe on a good day, but to put humans at risk like that is just greed and not caring for their employees. It's a sad state of affairs. By the way my friend has a book/antique shop in Pocomoke, MD she said people from W.VA come there to shop. She lives in Salisbury MD. Do you plan to buy Robby's book? Joan

Well the Hawks didnt win the West. But now they play Nashville which is about 45-50 mins from WKU. If the Hawks get a big lead and go for the clinch in Nashville i might try to go, though its a very low possibility.
