I've been a Robby fan since he came to NASCAR. I cheered for him when he was with Childress and loved his style. Robby reminded me of the guys that raced way back when, ready to take on the world and stand up for himself and not take shit from anyone.
Hi, Joan! I have fallen three times on ice, once getting out of my Explorer, all I did was put one foot partially on the ground, and down I went, the other two were on stairs. But I was lucky, nothing broken. That's great about "brilliant!" from Rob Harris. I just hope that RG can ride his "big Mo" into Daytona. I really want to see him succeed in a big way with Toyota.
I am so jealous about your snow! When we have gotten it the last few years, we have only seen 1-4 inches. Never enough to keep me out of work for a day---they never close. Be careful on those buses, sometimes the water stays on the floors and stairs and it's easy to slip or pick your foot up and splash your clothes.
Hey Joan! Don't worry over how he got in, be glad he did and cheer him on to the end!! I am anxious to see how the deal with Toyota will work out for him. Sending best wishes his way as always!
Weather this winter here has been mild. Thank goodness. It is supposed to be "warm" for the next week and I am thrilled! Take care!
Joan, you opened a can of worms with Harvick, I just saw the same thing I saw when Mark Martin(my favorite driver) was cheated out of his win by Harvick and NASCAR. I was not happy when he won this one either, I like seeing someone different winning at least once in a while. Sorry to hear about your bronchitis, I have been through that, be close to a bathroom when you start coughing hard. (LOL) Hope you are better soon! Take care. Kathie
I'm trying not to get my hopes to high, but with the world economy has been and everything else going on at least I can a couple days of haveing a positive out look.
Hi, hope you had a happy Valentine's, Joan! That sounds like a great job! I was working at the company that merged with my present company back in the day and worked at night and loved it! Nice of your friend to do that for you!
Life is too short to hate in my book. I think what comes around- goes around. Things will work out if we are patient. Besides, if we didn't have the "bad boys", we could never have our good guys. It gives us an extra reason to cheer when we beat him. Have a great week! On to California!!
The lucky dog goes to the first driver in the running order who is one lap down. When the leaders put Jeff a lap down, he was able to get in line and stay close to the leaders. Robby was still at the back of the pack. So, therefore, Jeff got the lucky dog and not Robby. Now, had Robby been running with the leaders when they put Jeff a lap down, and was able to get by Jeff before the caution came out, then Robby would have gotten the lucky dog.
Joan, I was also disappointed for him as i thought he would be able to get the lucky dog and head to the front, unfortunately he ran out of race. I am so happy to see Harvick somewhere other than in the Winner's Circle. I don't hate him, I am just not a fan.
Joan, hope you are feeling better now, keep dry and take Vitamin C and some of that "social" garlic (in capsule form, I think it's called Garlique) --that should help knock it out of you. Thanks for the tip about Mario, maybe he should be called Super Mario. I hope RG can have a good finish today, he has had some lousy luck at California.
Hi Joan. Good to hear from you. I have been out of touch - we had a power outage a few weeks ago and the surge fried my computer. Got a laptop and am having trouble with this now. Never know if I will have internet access from one day to the next -- bummer!
How are you? I see in your comments that you weren't feeling well. I hope you are getting better.
Have you watched the races? I am disappointed at the slow start, but remain hopeful. I only watch part of the races -- too busy and they never show RG anyway, so if I have to go out, I don't plan around the race anymore. Hope that will change soon!
Well, gotta get some things done around here. Talk to you soon,
Kim
No, I never did find out. I listened and waited, but of course, they never interview anyone except the high-profile drivers, and you never hear a thing about anyone else on the broadcast. I am hoping he can bounce back and at least crack the 20's this week...baby steps.
Well I am glad to see you survived the bad weather. As I keep telling Path, "THINK SPRING!" It can't be too far off. I guess Jason would not be kind enough to take you to California for some R&R and sunshine. LOL!!
Fingers crossed on the Atlanta deal. Take care! Love ya back!
I would like to see him run like that EVERY week! But seriously, I think this season will be better than the last one by a long shot. We had 5-6" of snow but the county decided that our road did not need tending to until at least rush hour when I am already gone to work. So my husband tells me to hang out for a while and I did, but it was still like the frozen tundra out there when I took 1/2 hour to clean off my vehicle, and it still wasn't clean, but I could see, so I ventured out and almost spun three times while I was still on my road. Then I saw someone in the ditch. I was unhappy already and wet, so I went home for the rest of the day. I don't do that a lot, so I didn't feel bad about it.
That's what our roads were like, ice with a snow chaser. But I am glad our snow that was predicted days ago to arrive today has not materialized, we had temps in the 40s this morning, and it's partly cloudy, so I have no complaints. I am hoping that since Atlanta is a similar track to Vegas, RG can stay on a roll to the front.
Well said Joan!! Well said! I wish you a great weekend as well. I hope we all have more to celebrate on Sunday and next week. Robby's good performance last Sunday has inspired some good attitudes and discussions this week. Give me the rose colored glasses as I would much rather live on a happy Planet!
19th isn't a bad place to start. As long as he improves on that and stays out of trouble. We are supposed to have 72 degrees here today, so far it's been mild and sunny, hope your weather is at least that good.
Afternoon Joan! I am glad we can leave Robby messages on his page. I also hope he scans thru some of the postings here and sees just how much his fans care about him AND his sponsors. A lot of people did Monster or Jim Beam schemes, so I thought I would take on Toyota.
Things are good here including the weather. That always makes for a better day in my book. Going to follow the stuff in San Felipe, so I won't suffer withdrawel from lack of Nascar.
Hope you have a great week!
Hey, Joan, I am wondering how that happened (29th)---he wasn't having such a bad day then he scraped the wall in front of Kurt Busch, I am glad he won too, I was rooting hard for him at the end. I am so tired of hearing about how awful it is that Jeff Gordon or Junior or whoever didn't win lately. Well, how about our guy? He hasn't had a win since he was with Childress!!!! I did enjoy the end, I love when races are decided by racing and not a caution (nothing against Matt Kenseth, if I get mad at him, I have a lot of people to be mad at for winning because of a caution). Talk to you later.
Hi Joan: Friday was awesome here in the northeast. (I am about 2 hours north of you.) I have Spring Fever big time! Unfortunatley, we will probably have another snow storm in March. (We usually do.)
Anyway, I was so disappointed when RG got intothe wall Sunday. I was thinking we were gonna have another decent finsh -- darn!!! How do we get this bad luck to change? Maybe we should all have a cyber-seance. Anything for the team!!!
Spring you say? I'm still waiting for the mounds of snow to melt! The rain today will help some, but sun is what we really need! RG can do well in SF - he just needs to keep the truck in one piece!
Hey Joan. Robby should be 29th in both the Driver's Points and Owner's Points (at least according to NASCAR.com and my calculations). He is 65 points ahead of the #8 who is in 36th.
OK...I got it now. The Driver's Rating Standings (DRS) list is a totally different structure than the Driver's Points Standings (DPS).
The DPS uses the traditional points system (each position has a set number of points) and lists the drivers by how many points they have accrued through the season.
The DRS uses a different system and is akin to the Quarter Back Rating in football. It is a system that uses a formula that uses Wins, Finishing Position, Top 15 Finishes, Average Running Position While on the Lead Lap, Average Speed Under Green, Fastest Lap, Led Most Laps, and Lead Lap Finish to determine a rating for each race individually and then averages those numbers (after the first race) for their rating. So, while Robby has finished higher than Paul Menard in each race so far, if Paul can stay on the lead lap longer than Robby (and have a better running average) or have a fastest Average Speed Under Green, or have a faster Fastest Lap, he will have a slightly better driver rating than Robby. If I can dig up the numbers from each race, I will post an example using Robby and Paul.
Hey Joan!! Thought you could use a Robby photo. See the banner in the background? I have the one behind it (same banner) for my big souvenir. Robby signed it for me with xoxoxox's as I had to fight for it. LOL!! He treated us so well as he always has. We got a lot of other things from him as well. I hope you get to meet him one day. He is really good to his fans. We had a great time at the races. No we weren't near the crash. I have seats on row 50 so we were well away from any debris. I taught Mouse how to do the autograph lines so he could meet a lot of the drivers. Gibby and I taught Path about "sweet tea" southern style. Gibby showed Path the art of meandering too.
Hope all is well with you!!
Hi Joan:
It has been a while. Just wanted to wish you a happy mother's day before the day is over. By reading your messages here, I see that you are having some health issues -- I hope you are feeling better soon.
I guess the last race didn't helpto raise your spirits :( I was out and put the race on the car radio and was disappointed to hear that RG was 2 laps down early. No need to go home and watch after I heard that!
I look forward to hearing from you soon - take care.
Uhhh Joan, did you read Path's blog??? I ask because I was there at the House of Mouse!! WE HAD A BALL!!! AGAIN!! Thanks for visiting the page and know I am hoping they finally find out what is going on with you. Take care!
For some reason Robby just can't seem to get his shit together in Sonoma! It has nothing to do with his driving but he needs to stick to strategy and not try to mess around! it bites him every time! As for him not talking to his CC, that's far better than to hear him tear him to pieces over the radio. I have heard him do that to a CC and it's not pretty!
One day we will get to meet. Where there is a will, there is a way! I see lots of races in the "gangs' future. I hope you have a great holiday as well. I really hope you next appt. is going to bring you some good news. Take care of yourself and keep me updated. Love to you as well!
I'm with you on the pit road thing, but they need to look at the overall behavior on pit road, I remember when they didn't have a speed limit when they came in and it seems less people were getting hit (not that it matters) but it seems that every week there is at least a close call if not someone hood surfing on pit road. Hope you are feeling better!!!
Love or hate Kyle, I didn't like the way the race ended. I know there are people who only want to see the wrecks, but I want to see a race. Not fond of rain forced endings either. Sometimes it is just hard to get into it anymore.
Hope you have a great week!
Rob Harris
I just realized you were referring to Drakar Noir the men's cologne.
Now I can quit scratching my head.
