All went as well as expected. We were so tired we were getting mean with one another. Hardly any rain where we were. We drove thru Jacksonville and could see where it had been raining. Lots of standing water in that area. We were below Tampa about a half hour above Frt. Myers.
Glad you got to get some autographs and photos. You never know where a driver will turn up! Hope everything else is going good your way!!

I ended up climbing to the top a hill to get the shots. I was hanging out with Baja Dave and Baja Mark. Wehad a grat time.

I was with Baja Dave and Baja Mark, and some friends from Indiana. They came over for breakfast, we headed out together for Checkpoint #2. I climb a hill, fell down a few times on the way up. I got to the top and got the shots. We were having lunch and a dust devil blew the Easy Up away. Dave has had it for 30 years. We had a great time back to San Felipe to celebrate with a fire, drinks and dinner at my house. When are you coming down?

I missed all of the race today, can you tell me what happened to Robby?

As for my summer, I am leaving for St.Louis tomorrow. Once I get back from there, I don't really have any plans...just relaxing. I actually work a lot in the summer because I am a band director.

Congrats to Robby on the Baja...that is awesome. As for today, I have no idea what happened.

Race day advice? Let's see - make sure you find out what time he's going to be at his trailer and and get in line early! Also, don't be afraid to talk to him because he is the best and he'll talk to you! I'm pretty sure after the "hug" in Dega he's going to groan when he see me!

Pitter patter, pitter patter!!!!! Mouse is out and about! Yes, get in his line early! Path will usually get in line an hour and a half to two hours early! It does go by fast. Just do it! You will meet sooo many other Robby fans as well and be able to talk to them while waiting!! Wear your Robby swag and have fun!! Hope you get to meet up with Sheila as well! Ahhh I remember my first live Nascar race. I was a teenager in the late 80's. LOVED IT!! Of course a lot has changed since then, but you never forget. Take in the whole thing and take lots of photos. Wait until you smell and hear the cars in person. Wait until you meet Robby. What a thrill that will be too! He is one of the best!

Since this is your first time at the track, my advice would be to be in his line by 8:00 as is grows quickly and gets pretty long! Heck usually we are at the track by 6:30! Because of race traffic and parking you need to get there early. It would be a shame to miss him on your first time!

Hope you have fun. The parking will be a muddy mess with all the rain this week.
Mud and all, wish I was there. The 2007 August Monsoon 400 made lots of money for the car washes.

PS... If Robby has the trailer there, it will be back by turn 4 and not with all the other MA trailers which are in front of the main grandstand.

The SPEED TV pre-race is a hoot.

The fresh lemonade they sell is to die for! It's found in the area underneath the grandstands near the press box. Very refreshing if you get hot.

Just got back from the estimate... ALLSTATE says the "starting" total was $2047.00. Meaning, they expect the shop to find more. Goes to the shop on Monday for approx 10 days.

ROUTE: Take I-475/US23N into Michigan. Get off exit 5, US-223. Take 223 all the way through Adrian and keep going north on 223. A couple of miles past Rome Center and BEFORE you get to Devil's Lake turn right on ROUND LAKE ROAD. Follow Round Lake Rd all the way to Rt12. Turn right on Rt. 12 and follow the crowd. Overall this is the best route in and out of the track.

The CRV might be the best as parking is in fields.

We usually leave around 7:30. Since Robby is there earlier this time, I'd be on the road by 7:00 so you don't get caught in traffic.

The SPEED stage is always right out front of the grandstands... can't miss it.

I hope you had a great time at the race. I had a great time watching Robby finish in the top 20. I got home from my trip Sat. morning at 1:00am. I turned the TV on Speed and they were replaying qualifying. Robby was just going onto the track. I was pretty confident, after that run, he was going to have a good weekend. Can't wait til next week!!!

St.Louis was fun. The spaghetti at the Spaghetti Factory was the best I have ever eaten.
