Yeah - the Post Office personnel are not trust worthy like they used to be. They ripped off our NASCAR coin off one of the pocket guides and they were taking our papers and reading them. Now I have the Scene sent to my office and I seem to get it regularly, if they read it, I still get it within the week. We never did get our 2008 pocket guide. I am ordering the NASCAR Pet Calendar from Biffle and having that sent to my office also. We have a lot of problems with our PO Box, and I've complained long and loud. We will see what happens in the future. Joan

While eating lunch (at desk) I checked out Robby's home pg. He is going to auction a Jim Beam hood (autographed of course by RG) on ebay to help Operation Homefront. The proceeds or a portion of them go to help our military families. Worthwhile cause. I have no money to offer on ebay for it, but what a nice addition to a NASCAR fan's collection. Joan

Qualifying in an hour - won't be home in time. Leave work at 5:00 p.m. Have a good weekend, keep all body parts crossed that RG has a good finish this weekend, I wish he could get up in the points. Last year he ended the season 26th - After Walter, he hasn't been able to get back up. That was quite a free fall for those weeks. Talk to you next week. Joan

Hi Kathie - Sometimes I wonder about Nascar Scene. Once they
posted a complete wrong finish for Robby, and they are supposed to by the authority. Now today I got the Scene from the Texas Race and I quote from the Scene "The Dickies 500 at Texas wan't a good race for Gillett Everham - or its customers. One of those custoemrs is Godeon, who drove a backup car to a 36th place finish - five laps down"??? Have they been reading their own publication??? RG has been getting engines from Penske since over a month ago. He was even quoted that the Penske powerplant was good. By the way, I'm sort of housecleaning my old posts, but I printed them out to be sure to save the comments. Well Sunday was not good, but could have been worse a 28th after two wrecks is some kind of miracle. Maybe the black cloud is getting lighter. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Yeah I left a message on his page - stay in the top 35!! He now has a page on our planet - I see we now have over 600 members. I don't have time to print out the pages, but would like to so I have all the names. I also left a message that I hope he wins the 1,000 again, but this time it's going that route over the cliffs with that 400 foot drop, not a place to lose your brakes. Am very busy this week at work, so will talk to you Monday. Have a good weekend HOPE RG has a good weekend too. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi - I just checked the live leaderboard Robby is at present 14th, but there are a lot to go. It began at 3:10 and I will be leaving soon, it's 4:39 here. Hope he gets in a top 20 position, but Jeff Gordon and a couple of other good qualifiers have not got on the track yet. Hope RG does well. Have a good weekend, will touch base on Monday. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kathie - Well he started 14th ended 28th I think He is in the top 35 (34). He went from 22nd to 33rd in a matter of seconds and I have no clue as to what happened whether he had penalty or bad stop. They never tell you - the only time I saw his car was when he was up near Johnson on the restarts with the lap down cars of when he was near a wreck or getting passed by one of the chasers. They didin't mention a lot of the drivers. They did mention Robby once when he was 22nd and said he was trying to stay in the top 35. I feel bad for fans of Blaney, Kahne, and others who never get mentioned or any time on the screen. I am happy that Bowyer won and Johnny Benson finally got a Championship in the trucks (he is such a nice guy)! He had tears in his eyes along with his smile. It was a great truck race. So now we go to Baja and hope Robby has a good run. Will catch up later this week. Joan.
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi - I just visited RG's home page robbygordon.com and read the Homestead Recap - Robby thanks all of us for our support and says they will have updates on their website during the off season. Of course, I will still watch our site here for updates on Baja and Dakar and keep in touch with all of the wonderful nice people who support Robby. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kathie - He's just too wreckless, I know he started 28th - but you have to save your equipemnnt. He rolled the truck and lost the engine. He rolled the truck last year. He's a great driver - but he has to learn to save his equipment. Junior was saying that at Hendricks they emphasize that - save your equipemt you have to finish to win, you have to be in one piece to finish. Talk to you soon. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving. Will talk to you in December. Love to you and yours. Joan
  • Sarah

I hope your first Thanksgiving in your new home is a joyous one! Happy Thanksgiving!!
  • Sarah

My Thanksgiving was as good as can be expected. Cooking and cleaning.. WHOOPPEEEE!!! And I get to do it again in a few weeks. Seriously, I enjoy the cooking and having the leftovers. It is just the mess you have to deal with when all is said and done. Here is hoping for a great holiday season.
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi - I am so busy at work, doing Xmas cards along with other chores I won't be posting much - ft a hot chocolate recipe on Robbygordongfan 1st's page makes 1 quart! Have a good week. I will catch up when I can, looking forward to RG winning Dakar. Joan
  • Sarah

I chose to work on as I am not into the black Friday thing. I guess I would rather use my vacation days for more important things like a race or just lying around the house with no agenda. Hope you have a great weekend! Missing the Sunday routine here.
  • Joan Forsythe

Have a good holiday - will be back in touch after Christmas - got a new TV practically for free (long story) will stay home 12/26 for cable guy. Hope you are well. Weather here sucks, but somehow we get through these winters in PA. Joan
  • Sarah

Just wanted to stop by and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a most blessed New Year!
  • Joan Forsythe

HI Kathie - Well Robby's 9th as of last night, hope he ups a few positions but there is a long way to go and anything can happen. Sobeing - NASCAR has a poll "How many races will you attend this year - 44% said none. Guess fans just doen't have the bucks to spend. NASCAR will have to reduce prices and so will the hotels if they want more attendance. Joan
  • Sarah

Don't worry about missing me. Holidays were ok, but I got to spend over a week in FL right after Christmas for next to nothing. That was the real gift. Hope your New Years is off to a great start. I have been hanging out here trying to keep up with the Dakar happenings. Take care and keep warm!
  • Joan Forsythe

Sorry to hear about your job - the experts say things are going to get worse before a turnaround. I know it will hit NASCAR because so many poeple are out of work. I've been watching the Dakar recap on VERSUS TV each night from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. (make sure I get the early bus home). Yesterday they recapped the race - Robby rolled his Hummer once, got lost once, but is still in the top ten. Erik was not so lucky and is still far behind. In Robby's interview yesterday on VS, he had that sparkle in his eye that I haven't seen in a long time, like he is really enjoing the ride. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kathie - I forgot to ask if you will be able to stay on our Planet from home. Check out NARSAR page today, there is an article by Dave Rodman on Robby being a winner. Glad to see one person of the press is impressed by our guy. We all know how special Robby is, good to see it in print by a member of the press. Keep in touch. Joan
  • Sarah

It was great. A friend's mom has a house there and no one was using it. I just had to help with gas and our groceries. All and all the trip for over a week cost me just over $100.00. Could not say no to that!! Hope all is good your way. Keep warm and fingers crossed for Robby in Dakar!
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kathie - we are having fun with marbles (check my page). Robby got a 2-pg. photo of him running in the sand at the Dakar it was in the NASCAR SCENE. He also got his photo on pg. 18. Glad they are recognizing him. Also, photo of Everham with his "finance" Erin Crocker - I thought he had dumped her, but obviously not. I am going to have such trouble with all the new driver numbers. What am I saying - only one # to remeber #7!!! Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

OK Kathie - it is now confirmed - Jimmie Johnson is definately a KLUTZ. Fell off a golf cart, broke a wrist; sprained an ankle last year and now cut his finger resulting in tendon & nerve damage during the Rolex race. That definately puts him in the KLUTZ zone. What is new? I know you were up in the air with your company. Hope it all works out for the best for you. Keep in touch - your friend Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Glad to see you are still on the pages of the RG Planet. Weather here is horrible, was out Wednesday because of snow and ice - can't afford to fall -rather miss one day than be out weeks in a cast. I am kind of thrilled - have to get my thoughts together - I gave Rob Harris an idea I had and he called me brilliant - that coming from him was awesome. I smiled most of the morning. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Yeah I agree - want to keep him going up to Championship or at least top 10 so he can enjoy the podium in NYC in 2009. I was happy to see that post from Rob Harris too. We had snow last nite - about 6". It was the wet kind so it stuck to the trees and it looked like a picutre post card this a.m. Made it to work without problems, might have trouble tonight when it all freezes. Hope not, Have new boots - just will have to be careful (I take 2 buses). Joan
  • Sarah

Greetings stranger! Just making my rounds to see how people have updated their pages now that Daytona is just around the corner. Looking good!! Hope all is well with you!
  • Sarah

12 here yesterday am, but much warmer today. As you know it is supposed to be warm around this area for the next week. Could spring be far behind?? I also send blessings out to you for driving to Herndon everyday. Do you take 28? I do my best to take the Greenway any time I have to travel that direction. Take care and keep warm!
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kathie - well our snow won't be here for long, it's supposed to go to near 50 deg. on Sunday, then it will be water & slush. Looking forward to seeing Robby in the Shootout. Sure hope he wins - Paul Manard is on the pole & Robby is 13th- Kurt Busch is 12th and Kasey Kahen is 14th - Jr. is in 9th & Kyle 10th, Harvick and Jeff Gordon are 27 and 28. I got this off the Speed page. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Been out of work Mon. & Tues. with bronchitis. Shootout was so dissapointing poor Robby had no where to go and both of them got creamed. I then was pulling for MacMurry, but Kevin won. He already has millions, hate it when the good guys lose. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Happy Valentines. My friend sent me a card and coupons for free coffee at Dunkin Donuts. He apologized for a cheap gift, but I thought it was nice of him to think to do that. We've been frineds for eons, back in the day we worked at a radio station, he was called the Hawk because he went up in the helicopter with the traffic report, I worked for the DJ doing promos and pr work- WOW LONG TIME AGO. Joan
  • Sarah

Happy Valentines!! Hope we have a great race to talk about tomorrow!
  • Sarah

Hey we all get busy. No offense was taken about the delay in answering. Just getting a feel for your drive. My Valentines was good. Went to a local talent show with some friends. It was a good time. Better than staying home on a Saturday night alone.
    GOOOOOOO ROBBY!!
  • Joan Forsythe

Well two things on Monday a.m. I officially HATE Kyle Busch and Harvick kind of redeemed himself. He helped Matt get to the front (I think Kevin was figuring he could get by on the last lap). Only the rain fell and he was 2nd and Matt took the prize. I was also happy to see a Ford win! I felt so sorry for Robby when Kyle punted him into the infield, he just was along for the ride, although he's driving skill kept him from hitting the wall. He must have been very dissappointed. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kathie - hope you are well, I'm still getting over whatever this is - check my page, that Mario is such a wizard, he can answer all my questions. He understands the points (very confusing to me). He's our go-to man. Just love it. Joan
  • Sarah

Talent show was great. Went to a comedy show this weekend. Had a blast! No snow here so I am a happy camper. Hope we both have something to celebrate after the race. Take care!
  • Sarah

We used to have some Toyota "parties" at the comedy club in the Best Western at Tyson's. Wonder if it was the same place you went?? They were always good. That was the good ol' days when big corporations did not have to worry about lawsuits and harassment as much as they do now. We used to have meetings there too. There were many times I was the only female in the meeting, but I never was made to feel out of place or uncomfortable.
Nice here too and it is only supposed to get better. Wanting to think that about Robby as well. We can only have faith!
  • Joan Forsythe

Qulified 13th ended 30th - I know they siad he hit the wall - but didn't explain why RG was int he back the whole race. Wish I had track pass, but can't come to work to listen to the race. No explanation on Robby's home page. Do youo know what happened to the No. 7? Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

The Scene said he had a penalty of 1 lap because he had to replace a lug nut, but other drivers are able to come back and win after tthat kind of penalty. I have no idea why he was in the back the whole race. I hope his luck turns around in Vegas Joan
  • Sarah

I don't know if they are still there or not. About a year and 1/2 ago, Toyota moved their monthly meetings a few blocks away. I guess because the "parties" were a corporate type of function, we were never offered any cards for parties. My loss!
I agree about Robby. Hopefully we will all be in better racing spirits after Sunday!
  • Sarah

Good morning! Wondering how you made out with the snow today. Nothing here, but the news was showing the people in the DC area going into panic mode as if it never snowed before. Take care and have a great week!
  • Sarah

We had NOTHING! That's right. Our little pocket out here by I-81 had NOTHING! It was colder than... but no snow and no ice. Supposed to get up to 60 later this week. Smile as spring is just around the corner.
  • Joan Forsythe

Well if Robby keeps doing what he did in Vegas maybe he can be in contention for the top ten. He came up +3 pts in the standings. He said at Vegas they changed everything but the chassis & driver - but it paid off. Had SNOW here Mon. & missed work a little over 9" but also icy and cold. Played catch-up yesterday, and today had a chance to actually read my e-mails. How are you doing? Job going?? I am in the middle of getting boss to California for depositions and hearings - so VERY BUSY. Keep in touch - Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

WOW here it snowed on top of ice and when we cleaned the car, ice was underneath and the wipers were frozen so we had to get in (the doors opened yeah) and defrost for a while until the wipers got free. Yeach I take buses and stayed home. They were so late anyway. Ah well. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

HI Kathie - well you know track position is important - so lets hope at 6:30 this evening he qualifies well. I will watch what I can between getting home and cooking dinner. LOL. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Oh man - after that pit stop penalty, flat tire and all the problems, his finish was incredible. Unofficial standings he's plus 2 up to 29th in points - not sure re: owner points, but anything above 30 is great. I was so glad Kurt Busch won and not his brother and not Jeff Gordon either. I am amazed how well Robby did in spite of all his problems. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Robby is running San Felipe and has decided to compete for the 2009 SCORE championship. I have no idea if that race will be on TV, but I am going to leave a message on his page. Hope he wins the SCORE championship - that would be great. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Did you listen to the man telling his story about Robby? Itt is on the home page of the planet under another reason we are Robby Gordon Fans. It seems he went to Robby's trailer for an autograph - had a poster he ws going to send to his son overseas. Robby went down to the pits and got 32 drivers to sign the poster for this man. All the man could do was say Robby Gordon is a Wonderful Man. Over and over - heartwarming. Joan
  • Sarah

    Have a great Friday!
  • Sarah

They say it happens in 3 so I think you are free and clear. NO snow here and it was not that bad temperature wise. Friday the 13th to me does not really effect how I think about the day. I work Saturday so it is not even a TGIF thing either. Have a great weekend!
  • Christopher

Yea shore no problem. Hope you have a great weekend.
