Profile Information:

When did you become a Robby fan ?
Became a Robby fan when he was with RCR. I am a recovering Jeff Gordon fan (guess I was young and stupid back then) who got sick of pretty boy whining and thinking he was entitled. First picked RG because I considered him the "anti-Jeff." Glad I picked RG - the more I learn about him and his "drive" and determination, the more I like him! Will watch Robby race anything!!!! Being his fan has opened my eyes to many different forms of racing and I am hooked!
What type of racing do you like ?
Yes
Will Robby ever win the Dakar Rally ?
Hell Yes!

Hi Kim. Bristol is an absolutely beautiful track....you should certainly go! (It's nicer than Dover...but don't tell Rick or any of those other Monster Milers that I said so.) LOL!
  • Kathy

    Kim:
Dillsburg is about half way between Harrisburg and Gettysburg. Oh and Bristol is a great track! was there last year and prefer it better to Dover! Going to Richmond in September for the first time.
  • RobGordonFan/Kim

I have probably passed you by a number of times in Dillsburg. I have family in Harrisburg and nephews play soccer and baseball in Gettysburg a lot. I'm probably 3 hours from you at the most.
Glad you're getting to Richmond. I hope to get to some different tracks next year. This year is not a good one for me -- too much else going on to spend the money and/or take the time to travel to other tracks. You'll have to report back and let me know how Richmond is.

Hi "friend" thanks - good to be here miss uprising and was glad to see how many have found us. Robby will be running the Nationwide & Cup this weekend at Chicago and has sponsors for both. GOOD NEWS! I have not been in touch with the team lately and miss leaving good luck wishes for RG. Keep in touch. Joan

Hi Kim. We've been to the Nationwide race. We stay at this nice small campground about 30 miles from the track (Abingdon, VA). We park our pop up right along the river. It is very nice. It rained like hell the last time we went a few years ago...I was drenched and it became not so fun....especially after consuming way too many frozen margaretas and then getting lost on the way back to the campground! Don't worry - I wasn't driving. But it really is a spectacular track!

Hi Kim - Did you get to meet Robby? I sure hope so. I missed him at Pocono 2004 because he had to cancell his autograph session because he did the Busch race and it was delayed by T-storms so he was sleeping because he didn't get back to Pocono until 4:00 a.m. So I sure hope you get to meet him. I did get his autograph by sending my book to the shop. Disappointed on Sunday, thought Robby would do better. He's dropping in points again. When Frank was there he was 27th and not happy, I'm sure he is miserable at this juncture. Hope you are well. Joan

    Check your PM . thanks!
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kim - What did Robby say about the uprising?? Glad you got to meet him. How did you like Pocono? I didn't like it when I was there is 2004. This time (last Poc race) it seemed they were giving more fan access. In '04 they were treating the fans like they were cattle going to slaughter - We also left early because that June it was very damp (no rain) just cold and damp and I was just getting over pneumonia so we watched the end in the hotel room. (Jimmie Johnson won) Keep in touch. Joan
  • Mike/WC77

Weelll now, that answer you got was a lil vague wasn't it? Sponsors yes, but only in the capcity that RG didn't want his sponsor reps, reading endless BS from clueless assholes.
  • Mike/WC77

Oh, BTW, I bought the shirt,& sticker too. Was tempted to tell him I want a refund @ Joliet. I don't give a shit about the money, I just wanted him to know I was PO'd.
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kim - you never said how you liked the Pocono race track. Robby was in a good mood that weekend, saw him on NASCAR pre-race show. Bristol - BUMMER. He did get back out for a while without a front end, but was black-flagged for going too slow. He was trying to add positions to stay in the top 35. I felt so bad for him. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kim - Oh YEAH!!! unless the cable goes out I'll be watching. Hated Bristol. I e-mailed Marchetta and asked if they were impacted by the flooding. Thankfully she answered that the shop & homes were OK. Glad for that, cleaning up after a flood is awful. We did it one year when my counsen lived in Atlatnic City & it got hit with a hurricane. Her whole apartment was full of smelly, wet sand. We had to use shovels to clean it. Talk to you after the race. Have a good Holiday weekend. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

I get the Charlotte Observer on-line - sometimes they have NASCAR stuff no one else has. They published a bunch of photos of the flooding in Huntersville, Mooresville, etc. Even Charlotte itself had some serious flooding. So much for the drought - now Hurricane Hannah may be heading their way. Robby had an awful finish - spun out, just terrible. I am too cheicken to look at his points. Joan
  • Kathy

Hey did you wear you RUR t-shirt to Pocono? If so what did Robby have to say when he saw it? Getting ready to go to Richmond as promised earlier will tell you about the weather (race).

    Later,
  • Kathy

Well the weather was really something! We found two shopping malls on Saturday. Finally got to see racing on Sunday - interesting race! Got to get Robby's autograph but wasn't impressed with his friendliness that you all have talked about - he seemed too busy talking to a couple of guys that came into the truck right before I got up to him - finally did get him to turn so that my friend could get a picture of him and me. Oh well - I am sure he had other things on his mind maybe under other circumstances he would be more "fan" friendly.
  • Kathy

Hey - glad to hear from you - was getting worried that you might be sick or something as I hadn't seen any action from you on the page.

Yes shopping is my second favorite thing so finding two malls wasn't exactly a tragic thing to happen (ha ha).

    Well, keep in touch!

    Kathy
  • Joan Forsythe

Hey Kim - keep in touch haven't heard from you in a long time. Crushed that RG is starting 34th (better than 35th) but hope he can avoid wrecks and pull out a good finish. One comment he made last week was that he looked at the leader board and felt like crying. I know how much he wanted a good finish. He tries so hard. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kim - good to hear from you. I just got on Ex-desert's page and downloaded the new Dakar venue. I follow everything Robby does. I agree with you about the race, but I was rooting for Jr. hopeing he'd beat JJ - but the Cheats won again. No one can tell me that they do not cheat. I am more than HAPPY that Kyle is not going to get the Championship and I don't want it to go to Cousin Carl either - he'd just give the trophy to some kid who can't appreciate what that means. Carl doesn't deserve it until he can appreciate all the hardship that comes to winning that trophy. When he is older he will wish he had those trophys sitting in his house. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

He Kim - what's up -? I've been busy here at work, but would love to hear from you. IF you get the Nascar Scene check out the pg. with RG and Allmindinger and the funny "quote". Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hey Kim - it's 9:57 a.m. Thurs. 10/30/08 right now on NASCAR.com there is a Jim Beam link and video of Robby at Atlanta. Good stuff. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hi Kim - I wish I knew how to post the photo Robby has his hands like he is hodling something and the caption says "I have this jar on change in my office and thinking of starting a 2nd team. Of course it's a funny made up by the Scene, but it is funny (he's talking to Allmindinger). Yeah, there is a Dakar link on this site and also if you go to All American Girl, there is a kink to her informaiton. Some photos of her and news articles. I left a message for her on her page asking about Australia, I think they went there for the Indy race.
Also on Ning, not this site there is racers reunion, they have pges of the older drivers. I get their news because I joined and have a page there, as well as on Robby's Planet. You can see and hear interviews with Jr. Johnson, right now they have Buddy Baker and Dan Elliot and videos of the Mountain Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville. I found them when RuR left town. Glad you were able to get the video of RG on NASCAR.com. I'm always looking for things. Check out our Dakar like and see the route and comments. Talk to you soon. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hey check out NASCAR.COM on right side Jim Beam link to True Character. Robby helps a vet get his car restored on Rusty Wallace's Angels. Good stuff. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hello Kim, Just a heads up Robby has joined our Planet and has a page. I just left him a message. Also TOG has just begun a follow Robby at Baja page, I also joined that. Gee the planet is getting busy and exciting. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Yeah since I do this at work was in dark over weekend as to fate of RG. He rolled his truck, and blew an engine. He rolled his truck last year, he's getting too wreckless - you have to take care of your equipment. Junior said that's one thing he's learned from being at Hendrick - save your equipment, don't push your brakes and engine. You have to finish to win - you have to be in one piece to finish. Talk to you later. Have a nice day. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Happy Thanksgiving - Talk to you in December. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Happy Thanksgiving - have a great recipe for hot chocolate makes 1 quart - if you want it, I'll pass it along. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Here is the recipe: 2 squares of Bakers unsweetened chocolate, 1/2 cup sugar (1cup if you like it sweeter), pinch salt (wee), 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1 quart milk. In a saucepan put a little water and the 2 squares of chocolate over low heat and melt chocolate, add sugar and keep heating till sugar is dissolved. Then add the salt, vanilla stir and add the milk. You can then take it off the stove and put it in a jar or keep heating till you have hot chocolate. (Sometimes the chocolate does not melt all the way, so you may have to strain it into a quart pitcher or bottle). This chocolate is good hot or cold, it has a tendancy to separate so shaking is needed when it's cold, but it tastes so much better than store bought.) Enjoy - let me know how you like it. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

No didn't see thread on John Story - he left RGM to go to DEI, guess he got the axe with the new merger. Don't know if she will keep the pres. either, probably lots of DEI people will be lookiing. Not sure John's return is a good or bad move. Robby needs capital, if John comes back hope he can obtain working capital for RGM. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Have a good holiday - will be back in touch after next week. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Melting chocolate - The secret is a little water in the bottom, low heat and stir, stir, stir, even after you add the sugar stir until all (or most is dissolved) then add the other ingredients. You have to keep the heat low - it takes time, but it's worth it. A double boiler also works - but that takes longer and I'm always in a hurry. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hey Kim - haven't been in touch. What's new?? Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

hI Kim - computers can we wonderful, but when they don't work it's so frustrating. I came in the other day and my computer was down, and our phone system is connected to a computer system, so phones and fax were out and it took all day to get them back, phone is still not working correctly and I don't have time to play games with it. I watched and was so confused. RG had a penalty for lug nut, but that didn't explain why he was running way in the back all day finishing 30th. Other drivers come back from a 1 lap penalty and win the race. I just didint' understand it. Joan
  • Joan Forsythe

Hey Kim - looking forward to Spring was almost 50 deg. here in Lansdowne, PA today. Hope Robby qualifies well and has a good run Sunday. Keep in touch. Love Joan
