Stage 13 - Friday, January 16

La Rioja > Cordoba

Connection: 161 km | Special: 545 km | Connection: 47 km | Total: 753 km

After having swallowed thousands of kilometers, participants will face a first-class physical challenge in this next-to-the-last stage. State-of-the-art pilots must maintain their position, while amateurs must avoid an excess of confidence. Errors can leave bitter memories, since this will be the day of cacti. At the bivouac, doctors will no doubt be called on to wield the tweezers. Finally, for the experts of traditional rallies, certain routes are part of the patrimony of the World Cup that takes place every year in Cordoba. Here, aficionados will guarantee a large popular fiesta.

RG has over 4.5 hours protecting the podium. Does he protect that? Or does he go for broke? Two stages left he could just sit back and hope for second place?
he GOES GAS ON
You do realize you are talking about Robby Gordon .. right? "Sit back" is not usually in his vocabulary.
He's not going to throw away a podium, not when there is so little chance of making up positions. Hard enough for a stage win (since the VWs will be conservative) but thats it.
There is 90KMs between CP1 and CP2 that could eat a rabbit. I sense a Mark Miller rollover.
wow. What a long stage tomorrow. I say RG goes for broke.
If he does not put the pressure on, the VW's don't run... He would have to pass both, and leave them in the dust to make them race.. My bet is he gets in contact with the VW's (ensuring he is on the right trail) and brigs it home for a podium finish..........
Just drive to get to the finish. VW will do whatever their going to, they have the upper hand now, and won't be bothered by Robby pushing. Until he's within 5 to 10 minutes of them on the overall, they won't see him as a threat. So Robby just has to be there to take advantage of a mistake or a failure - pushing too hard will just force his own bad luck.
Hour 20 back, wait for them to break. One of them will, possibly two. We may just find ourselves a podium. No need to F that up by pushing too hard. Our only chance to move up is bad luck on the part of The VWs.
i figure VW's done racing, they're just going to drive the rest of the way.... they have 1st and 2nd in the bag, they won't risk anything. German = conservative.....
And that might just be their undoing. They will have to put some distance between themselves and Robby. I don't thing RG will do anything foolish or stupid, but I do think he will push as hard as he can.
They will tell DeVulvas to pull over and let MM catch up and they have to keep each other in site at all times. They will be told not to let RG sway their attack.

They have 30 minutes to give on each of the last two stages.

Rg will get the stage win tomorrow.
