The following standings have been tabulated off of the Baja 500 official results posted on the Score site after the penalties were given.

A lead of 29 points for Robby, but that would change in a hurry if he doesn't run Primm in September.

I'm bummed.
I'm sure some here will disagree. Chew on this: Robby was running away title and SCORE needed to tighten it up to keep it interesting. They knew everbody committed some kind of infraction....so they played around with the number of points for each penalty until they liked the way the points battle looked. They penalized everybody so nobody was singled out. They beat up the big boys Robby and BJ because none of the rest of them would stand up for them. I'm sorry, but if they wanted to select the finishing order, they should skipped the race. Oh well, at least BJ and Robby put on a hell of show! OK, now that I've spilled the conspiracy theory, everbody can can start the the sniping. I'm ready
never actually looked at it this way ,nicely said kurt,i do agree with you, lol.
i'll say that you have a point. there are alot of questions as to how theyare coming up with the amount of penalty minutes per infraction. i think it would only be fair of score to use robby s youtube video of the irc tracking data(or lack of). after all they used a youtube video to penalize him 90 min for the illegal pit. score really needs a better system, it might be another week before they finish all the official results. kind of hard to have official results posted a month after the race ends and call yourself a professional organization.
Sorry, but not a chance. This is a fall out from the previous race and the flack Score received for not penalizing Robby for his cliff jump. Robby to Score is like Jeff Gordon to Nascar. He has and will continue to receive favorable calls in questionable matters. He is one of (if not the most) influential off-road racers ever and Sal does cannot afford him to be pissed off and denounce the Score series.
Robby hey .. you should run the Primm and finish... in the Baja 1000 you have an easy race but so hard and take the championship and show them that you are the NUMBER 1
what would points have looked like with unofficial results.
Robby would have been up 46 points on 2nd place with 226 points.
