me I dislike it, consider it way to much hype, and takes away form the racers and the race, only the select few, there are alot of folks out there that are truely interested in the rest of the field. And the broadcasting network either speed, espn ,tnt, abc put way to much emphasis on the race for the chase. what say you?

No, he would still have all 4. He has the smartest crew chief in the business and they have played to the rules. If the rules were different, they would have played different and still dominated. They are the "Gordon/Evernham of this decade.

Your point is still valid though... Kurt Busch wouldn't have his.
The Chase and the COT have almost destroyed Nascar.
It is manufacturing excitement, just like the BCS in college football or American Idol. The only difference is: there is no voting to see who gets in. If voting existed, Jr would be in the chase every year. If they want to continue the chase, allow drivers who have won three poles and those won have won a race. Eliminate a driver every week after the second week of the chase. During the chase, the chase drivers should have to start at the back of the pack and you are awarded 50 extra points for winning a race, no points for leading a single lap, you must lead at least 10 laps. They should just go back to the old way.
all excellant and vaild points...so out with the chase
good luck with that. The chase is a cash cow.
I have to agree about the whole "Clone Car" thing. While the COT is safer, they really have sucked a measure of soul out of the sport.
I say you give the top12 25 points per win to start the chase and have the points earnd per race for the last ten races doubled for the top 12. This way here you get to keep some of your lead.
The chase is new Coke, but they were smart enough to realize that you couldn't mess with the original.
I have despised the "Chase" since it started. But then I have also despised the COT! Now we have a COT with a spoiler but it still sucks. I digress. Some of the ideas on this thread have been good ones and I would add one more little item for a twist. Make EVERYONE qualify on time! If they have a good enough car they'll get into the race, if not Oops! As for the France family. Isn't it sad that an entire sport is monopolized by one small group of people?
The Franz family needs to take a step back and realize that Billions is enough.....

With that said......Chase no Chase NASCAR has got to implemint some sort of Revenue sharing with the teams (and maybe the tracks) or NASCAR will not survive. ....period......

They need to put a product back on the track where 20-30 cars have a legit shot at winning each week like there was 6 or 7 years ago. The racing sucks and people are content with Watching ESPN to see if Jimmy Johonson or one of the 6 others won........The sponsors have caught on to all of this as well...when Big Name Drivers and teams are piece mailing sponsorship together....that is not good..........

When you can't fill Bristol......your product sucks.....
HATE the COT.... But the Chase has made things more interesting IMO. Other than the media coverage which sucks big time under any format. Drivers outside the top 10 never had a chance of clinching the title. With the reset, it's game on. We're watching several races within the chase now too that didn't matter before. Who is going to clinch the final spot? Who stays in the top 35 for a berth in next year's Daytona 500? It spurs interest on different levels.
