Versus TV is gone. Does this mean my Dakar Rally fix is at risk?

Versus just anounced that as of Jan 2 2012 they will be no more. NBC Sports will take them over. Anyone know if they will still cover the Dakar? Altho the coverage was very limited, I still looked forward to coming home each day and watching Dakar coverage on the 52" lcd big screen. Here's the anouncement from there FaceBook page:
.
Comcast, the owner of Versus, acquired a majority stake in NBC Universal in 2011. As a result of the merger, the operations of all of Comcast's national sports networks were folded into the NBC Sports division. As a further result of its new synergy, Versus will be re-launched as the NBC Sports Network on January 2, 2012.

Kinda favor red dress's me own self

I prefer a burlap bag draped over anything that moves. and if you think i'm joking get your wife to wear one and spend the cash you save on dresses for some good beer and then tell me how crazy I am.

Ya, I prefer Eurosport feed that is posted on Planet Robby over any of the versus converage

You would think as big as this race it that they will broadcast the entire race live on tv

I wouldn't put it past you WJM...

Well at least we have speed with 20 hours of pimp my ride.

There has to be something better than the shit they're playing now

Just checked TVRacer.com They have Dakar scheduled Jan 2 1:30-2:00 PM ET on NBC Sports Network (old Versus)

I mentioned in the Quinn Cody thread at Planet Biker Bar - http://www.planetrobby.com/group/planetbikerbar/forum/topics/quinn-...

that Quinn has been talking to NBC about their coverage. He is hopeful they will have the budget to give us some decent coverage this year. One thing he has stressed to them, and hopefully they listen, is that nobody wants to watch empalada segments. I know Quinn was serious about this because he did a spot on imitation of that gal with the big 'ol butt when he told me this. Now, weather or not NBC does a better job than they do with the Baja 1000 is yet to be seen. As with every year, I will be tuned in to Planet Robby for the best crowd sourcing on the 'net. Right here is where you will find the best info, with links to watch video online.

Ines Sainz is nice to look at but I can't understand a word she says and her segments were useless. Dunno if Floyd and Moody will be back but they do a good enough job.

@will:  +1 The Planet will have all the news.

THIS JUST IN..... I just checked TVRacer.com and they had a change to Dakar coverage. They will still be having the 1/2 show, but the time has changed from previously posted. Ignore my privious post with the PM time, but best check for yourself closer to the event.

They were nice enough to highlight the change, here is what it said for Jan 2nd

UPDATE 12/19/11: Verified by NBC Sports Network - Dakar highlights to be shown daily starting this morning at 1:30am
