Mears could most likely go 2 or more laps , but why take the chance ?

Mears qualified 21st last year, his career best at Sonoma. I think PJ will qualify 30-something.

i think mears can drive, just like robby, it takes time to show it if you and your equipment are not dead on. i mean jimmie is the man and earnhardt is the ass of hendrick. all basically have the same equipment and one is better than the other. scott speed hasn't exaclty been blowing up the scene as of late either. i think with more time with his old cc, mears could have done better but who knows, lets see how the next driver does?

they are all pros. They all have strengths & weaknesses. Casey is at an age where he can try to re-group and look for a Truck or Wide ride, and then try to get back into cup in the future.However, the future is now, as Mears will re-join the #36 at New Hampshire.

Does anybody know why Red Bull is so High on Scott Speed, Is he that untouchable. I didn't think is was that big a deal.

Austria likes him. Red Bull would still sell the same amount of product with or without Scott Speed or Brian Vickers driving their cars.

$$ IS the demographic RB goes after. Not much different than MONSTER. He had a very long line at his trailer Sunday for autographs. If you follow his Twitter account he's a real entertaining character.

I am not a Scott Speed fan at all. However, this is his 2nd full season in Cup and considering his lack of experience, he's done pretty well with a 22.8 average finish. A few years ago I thought the same thing about Paul Menard. I was dead wrong and he is proving himself this year. Who knows, maybe we'll be saying the same thing about Kevin Conway in a couple of years.

Kevin is pretty much a lock for the Rookie of the Year award and he will have his name linked to Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, Rusty Wallace and Richard Petty to name a few. (okay, I took that one a bit too far)

Nascar needs more Scott Speeds, more Robbys, more Boris Saids, more of anything that will help reach an audience outside of the southeastern US. They have that area more than covered, the rest of the world is where their growth will need to come from.
