Here are the Top 20 Dakar Rally overall standings after stage 9.Robby Gordon finds himself in 5th place and only 1hr 30 minutes out of the lead with 5 stages left to run. Please note, stage 10 should be a great stage for Robby, especially coming off a 3rd place in stage 8.

Eric V is only a few minutes out of 20th place. If he has a good day tomorrow, he should easily move into the top 20 overall.
Robby is doing great, just great. Keep it up Robby, we are with you all the way.
Way to go Robby!! Keep up the good work.
note.... there isn't a penalty listed along Robby's name anymore....:)
That doesn't mean it doesn't exist anymore.. could be an error.. but i do hope it doesn't exist.
The penalty only "exists" next to Robby's name under the "Stage" section of the Standings page for Stage 8. It was not put next to his name on the "Overall" section of the Standings page for Stage 8 and has not appeared on the "Overall" section of the Standings page for Stage 9. If that time was added, then it is still part of his total time.
Interesting tidbit...I went and added up Robby's times through all 9 stages and the Overall time listed above for stage 9 (and the Overall time listed on dakar.com after Stage 8) do not reflect the 15 minute penalty. The only place the penalty is listed is on the "Stage" section of the Standings page for Stage 8. Maybe Robby is appealing the time penalty and the ASO didn't add it to the Overall time yet?
