@Lucky,some things aren't about paydays!I'd guess you and other's have never had a number on your racers, that is the number that associates you.I have the number 44 on everything!
I associate RG in NASCAR with the 31 not the 7 and he has driven the 7 twice as long. He has 3 wins in 31 (or for this argument all 3 of his wins in NASCAR's elite division have come in a number that isn't 7. Wouldn't expect you to understand that) What say you now?
All of Robby's most memorable moments in NASCAR came in a number that wasn't the 7. Three Wins in the 31 and Starting on the Pole in the 28 right after Davey's death the first time he had ever been in a stock car.

What is a memorable moment in the 7? The Helmet throwing at Mikey? Maybe the race at Sonoma in 2001 a lapped Harvick ruined when RG was in Jim Smith's 7 and he finished 2nd to Tony? Maybe the 3rd in the Rain shortened race at Charlotte a few years ago? Why the Affinity with the 7? It has been a curse not a blessing. If he gets offered big money from Danica's people I say sell.
You can associate Robby with his episode of Home Improvement, or Chip Foose's Overhaulin', or that time he wore the clear rainsuit, boxers, & helmet at a score event(Laughlin?)...throwin the helmet @ Mikey, the fight w/Smoke that Earnhardt broke up.....all good stuff. Fact is, he's keepin the 7
@Lucky 7 would you change your icon to Lucky 119 if thats the new number? or are you happy with the number 7 LOL
His first stock car start was two years prior for the legendary Junie Donleavy in the #90. At Daytona. I'm a Rob fan because of the start in the #28, but he runs the 7 because he wanted it from Jim Smith.
whats your address?
I live in Iowa and I watch real racing on a weekly basis at one of the best Half Mile Dirt tracks in the World, Knoxville. Maybe it is because I follow dirt racing so close where 2 guys will have the same number and a letter seperates them I dont know. But a number doesn't make the driver it is the other way around. The fans cry for a driver to have the same number has less to do with success than it does familiarity.

Why does everyone think of AJ Foyt in the 14 for example? He won 2 Indy 500's in the number 1 and 2 in the 14. He has run the 14 longer in Indy, but never ran the 14 in stock cars. Won the Daytona 500 for Wood Bros in the 21. Yet we think of 14 for ole AJ. I guess Perception is reality why do I even bother........
yep AJ #14,yep #21 Wood Bro's, if the number didn't matter your fav sprint car driver's would change the number to not conflict.Point made, go ask them if the number matters!
All you pointed out is that it matters for Owners not Drivers. AJ won Indy in the #1 twice #14 twice. Won in Nascar in the 41, 47 and 21.

We think of AJ in the 14 cause of late in his career and as an owner. We think of Wood Bros as Owners.

Sure we can think of RG as the Owner of the 7 but his best days were in other car numbers. In Fact when RG is done racing, I will think of him driving Derrick Walkers #5 Valvoline Car in CART OR 15 for Jack Roush in Sports Cars way before I'd remember he owned his own team in NASCAR and farted around.
you win lucky 119, a guy's number has no meaning.
Lucky 119 it is. However, Lucky 7 is more a name not a number. Anyway you can call me anything but cute.

How mad does it make you when RG doesn't run the 7 in offroad
