Charlotte, NC (June 15, 2012) – Robby Gordon returns to NASCAR Sprint Cup competition this weekend at Sonoma Raceway in the No. 7 MAPEI / SPEED Energy Dodge Charger. Gordon has been busy during his break from stock car racing; he has competed in several off-road races and posted wins at The Mint 400, The Parker 425 and The Silver State 300. Also, most recently announced the return of stadium truck racing – Robby Gordon’s Stadium SUPER trucks - resurrecting what was once Mickey Thompson’s vision.

Last time Gordon and his team were on a road course was the NASCAR Nationwide Series in Montreal, where they lead several laps in the No. 77 MAPEI / SPEED Energy Dodge Charger. They are excited to get back to road course racing and have been busy preparing a car that they hope will have what it takes to win at Sonoma Raceway, a track where Gordon is not a stranger to victory lane.

Winner of the 2003 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Sonoma, Gordon will be making his 15th start at the 1.99 mile road course. He has also recorded three top 5 and four top 10 finishes.

“Even though I have been out of the NASCAR scene for about three months, we have been extremely busy with off-road racing and the introduction of SST. We tested the No. 7 MAPEI / SPEED Energy car last week in South Carolina and look forward to competing with the regular NSCS group this weekend. Sonoma is a fun race track, and we have had great results there so I am looking forward to putting on a good show for our fans,” says Gordon.

Riding along with Gordon on the No. 7 Dodge Charger will be long time sponsor MAPEI. “MAPEI has been a great partner and supporter of our racing programs since 2006. I’m excited to have them back with us this weekend; we’ve got a lot of fun things planned for their employees and customers during the course of the weekend.”

Appearances – Robby will be signing autographs at the Robby Gordon Motorsports / SPEED Energy merchandise trailer on Sunday, June 24th from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Race Coverage – NASCAR fans can watch the Save Mart 350 live on TNT on Sunday afternoon, June 25th, beginning at 12:00 p.m. PDT. On Friday, June 24th, SPEED Channel will broadcast qualifying from Sonoma Raceway beginning at 3.40 p.m. PDT. If he finishes top 30, he might as well park the damn car because I think he is going for the top spot this weekend. RG should do well if he doesn't have engine problems or on track problems. Since there is no true crew chief, I hope the team is able to make good calls and have their fuel mileage figured out. If the car has power to run up front and the team doesn't have any bad luck with calls or cautions, Robby should be contending for the win!!! Can't wait though for this weekend to come so we can see Robby race again :)

Qualify top 15....make a plan...stick to the plan....GO RG and Speed Energy! Best of Luck and Kick some A**

Really top 30 wow really you have to be kidding. Ya you are, think win!

As every NASCAR team knows, there's a million different ways that things can screw up, robbing your driver of the chance to do what he does best.

Here's to keeping the gremlins away, and seeing RG with a clear opportunity to give the other drivers a run for their money.

I will be there as usual, cheering Robby on.

My biggest concern is understanding fuel mileage and fuel injectors. Robby has one race this year with FI in cup?

Ahhh, it will be good to see Robby racing on the telly again even if it is nascrap. Sanoma, the center of dive bomb racing. Hopefully diver bombers will leave the real road racers alone. I am really cant wait for Montreal, way too much unfinished business.

Just win Robby! no need for points racing! I'll be there flying you colors!

WIN or DIE TRYING!!!!!

Me thinks Robby don't do nothing nutso and Qual's the car what it is able to do, top 10 or maybe top 5 or on front row, and race it smart, hope for nobody take him out and finish where he belongs--WINNERS CIRCLE.....

My concern is for the pit stops...He's always having to pass the same guys over and over cuz he looses 10 spots every time he pits
**Good Vibes** Praying for Good Pit Stops

WWWWWWIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNN think win come on ROBBY get some!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you feel like i do,come on win baby win!

He knows how to do it at this track, no sweat....
