Charlotte, NC (August 20, 2009) – The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend for one of the most anticipated races of the season. The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas / The Rogue Joint will return as the primary sponsor under the lights of the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile” track. The flashy black and purple scheme was seen last on Gordon’s No. 55 Nationwide entry at Watkins Glen where he finished 14th.

Robby’s Remarks on Bristol – “We had a great car at Bristol in the night race last August and earlier this year, so I am looking forward to racing the No. 7 Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas Camry this weekend. Bristol is a rock n’ roll type track, so it is exciting to have them onboard for this race. It will be 500 laps of beating and banging action. This track is all about survival and being there at the end. We will just have to be patient and see how the weekend goes,” commented Robby Gordon.

About The Rogue Joint – The Rouge Joint inherited its name from the legendary original Hard Rock venue and was designed by the renowned Montreal-based architectural design firm Scéno Plus. This upgraded facility has a seating capacity of 4,000 and will carry on the up-close and authentic feel of the original venue with the furthest seat in the house only 155 feet from the stage. The Rogue Joint is a multipurpose facility featuring a state-of-the-art sound system, an innovative lighting system, and 38 flat screens throughout the venue to guarantee the ultimate viewing experience and is part of the widely-publicized $750 million dollar expansion of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas slated for completion later this year.

Thunder Valley Statistics – Saturday’s Sharpie 500 marks Gordon’s 18th appearance at the high-banked bull ring in the Sprint Cup Series, starting on the front row once and recording one top-15 finish and six top-20 finishes.

TV and Radio Times – Qualifying is set for Friday, August 21st at 5:30 p.m. (ET) on ESPN2, PRN, and Sirius Satellite radio. The 500 laps of racing action begins on Saturday, August 22nd at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN, PRN and Sirius Satellite radio.

Appearances – Robby Gordon Motorsports has a special treat for fans this weekend. Paul Menard, driver of the No. 98 Menards Ford, will be joining Robby at the souvenir trailer on Saturday to sign autographs for fans. They will be appearing at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday

I dont think beating and banging is what all the young guns have in mind for this weekend.I hope Robby can stay on the lead lap until the 400 lap,if so he will do well.
That's a pretty tall order at Bristol. By lap 400 there are usually only about 15 cars left on the lead lap! Maybe it's time the young guns learned what Bristol is all about when RG beats and bangs his way to the front.
I wonder if double-file restarts and the wave around will change that?
I think only the 20 really has a case for payback--if anything the 12 should stay away from the 7
its a short track.. You stay away from all the cars..lol
HMMM, notice the design company for The Rouge is from Montreal....wonder if this paint scheme makes it's third appearance next week at Montreal....???
Great point!
Hope the paint job looks better at the end of this race than it did at the end of the last race we saw it on the car.! Really pleased he has them on board though.
