here is the report from Ramses of Toyo Tires of Stage 6 , in case you missed it.

Most of all the competitors tell me that this is the toughest Dakar to date. They can’t believe the carnage that is going on this race. Almost two thirds of all competitors have withdrawn from the race. Today’s stage was shortened due to severe thunder storms raised the river water levels that the competitors had to go through. The course consisted of brush trails and the tallest dunes on earth. Robby started 3rd off the line, in this case starting first might not be the best for you. The dunes were so high that one cannot drive up them. The drivers need to find away to ride the dunes and go around the higher peeks. Robby had a navigational error that cost him dearly. He went left on a dune when he should have gone right. He figured he would ride the dune to the top and see where the other cars were in the course. When he reached the top the other cars were nowhere to be seen. Robby and Andy were lost for about 25 minutes when they finally got back on course. The dunes were so high that when he came down from one, the Hummer launched straight down and damaged the front bumper and grill. He also broke a rear left spring early in the race that prevented him from riding the dunes more efficiently. The Hummer was bottomed out, even with those issues the Toyo Monster Hummer finished 8th in the stage 32 minutes and seven seconds behind the stage winner. and due to the previous leader missing four wave point checks that are mandatory by the A.S.O was disqualified.

This now moves Robby to 6th over all in the rally Eric Vigouroux has made an impressive comeback after a disappointment mechanical issue parked him for five hours taking him out of any serious contention. He finished 14th with the time of 3 hours 14 minutes and 30 seconds. He now moves to 27th overall, Eric still has a chance to brake in to the top 20 and possible the top 15. We cross the Chilean border tomorrow and head towards Valparaiso Chile. Stage 7 has been shortened again due to the same weather that affected stage 6.
