I am curious as to why Denny Hamlin was allowed to finish the race? Doesn't the minimum speed rule come into play? Or do they have to throw the black flag on the car? He failed to meet the minimum speed after going to the pits the first time and they always harp about how you have one chance to get to the minimum speed. Can someone help me understand? Or do I have to find a NASCAR rule book which is more vague and secretive than Area 51?

After the car broke initially, he caused the first caution, and went to the garage to fix it. After coming out of the garage, he failed to speed up, and a second caution was thrown, sending him back to the garage. After that he was able to reach minimum speed. He didn't fail to meet minimum speed more than once, so Nascar didn't play favorites.
Well in a way they did because your only allowed to work on your car one time to fix the problem and if you can't get it fixed then your suposed to be done.
They only tried to come back once with failure. So they still met the requirements either way.
no... they came back twice. Supposedly this isnt allowed but we all know they make it up as they go, just like Robby making the drivers meeting and still starting tail back.
Nascar will work with teams in situations like that. The 11 team's problems never allowed them to show what speed the car could run. They were given a chance to fix their car and reach minimum speed and they did. Case closed.
You guys would be going nuts if the same thing happened to Robby and Nascar didn't cut him some slack. The rule is meant to keep unsafe 'wrecked cars' off the track, not to penalize someone chasing an electrical problem. kudos to Nascar for letting him work it out. I would be shocked if they didn't extend the courtesy to anyone in the field.
beacuse he is still in the chase i think he is at 12 now so any other car would have been told to bring it in!!! bullshit Na$crap! also anyone else sick of him causing wrecks every weekend???
