Robby must qualify on time.
No Wood Brothers so 1 less "good car" to beat in Q's

Also, If 21 skips Pocono they will probably also skip Watkins Glen. That should eliminate them for a month or so reducing the competition to the 38 and 71 for the time being.

With the 71 now locked in, we hope for another 38 DNQ. (sad to only gain 1 point on them. Opportunity lost.)

If Wimmer qualifies and bumps Robby, can the 77 be withdrawn (like Indy)? I imagine Robby might let Wimmer drive, but it would have to be the 7 (for points).

(Looking for silver linings wherever I can find them)
Only 1 car.
47 entries?? Seems like alot for Pocono...
nope. just 1.
List revised.
It's not like we haven't been down this road before. Remember this time last year, Ted just missed putting the 7 in the show
Old Ted had a hell of a lap going until he got the right side off the patch in turn 3.
So we now know that RGM will have only 1 entry. The quesiton now becomes: Who will drive the 7 car and will that driver go the distance or test?
I'm sure Robby is driving.
Honestly I would be shocked if he is not in the car. The motivation this weekend is to get the 7 back in the top 35 and allow RGM to bring a second car to WG. If the 7 is not in the top 35, I am not sure if PJ...er...the 77 will attmept to qualify at WG and potentially bump the 7 if RG had a hiccup on the qual lap.
I still think they can bring 2 cars. If the 77 bumped the 7 out, they can withdraw the 77 and the 7 would be back in if that were the case. I just doubt Robby fails to qualify at WG.

Since being at RGM his worse qualifying effort at WG was 22nd. He started 31st, 29th and 39th all due to qualifying cancelled by rain.He has average qualifying of 13th in races he qualified on time (minus qualifying rain outs). Robby has an average finish of 8th when running at the end (minus 2 races he DNF'd).

Robby Gordon is in the Top 8 ALL TIME at Watkins Glen in driver ratings.
