Dodge and the SRT Motorsports brand announced that the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart rally car will be piloted by four-time Rally America Champion and 17-time X Games Gold Medalist Travis Pastrana in the 2012 Global RallyCross Championship (GRC) Series. The Dart rally car will be powered by a purpose-built, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder, 16-valve turbo-charged 600-horsepower engine mated to a Sedav 4-wheel drive gear box that puts out more than 550 lb.-ft. of torque.

MWR is one of the teams that has been rumored to go to Dodge for 2013, Pastrana has ran Subaru rally cars since he started Rally Racing and while he left the factory team in 2010 to start his own in 2011 he continued to run Subaru. Toyota owns part of Subaru, Pastrana races for a team that up until this year was the #1 Factory Toyota team in NASCAR (I would say JGR has taken over that role for this year now that JGR helps build the TRD engines, even though MWR is out-preforming them).... So why would a driver for one of the Factory backed Toyota teams in NASCAR abandon the Toyota connected vehicle to become a factory back (though still his own team) Dodge driver for the 2012 Rally season.. As Larry Mac likes to say "It's one of the things that makes you go Hmmmmmm".

And yes I'm aware I may be reading entirely too much into this.
