From Jayski:

Joe Gibbs Racing announces that Dave Rogers will be assuming the duties as crew chief for the Sprint Cup Series #18 Toyota starting with the November 8 race at Texas Motor Speedway. Steve Addington, who has served as crew chief for the #18 team the previous five seasons will be reassigned to a position within JGR following this weekend's race at Talladega Superspeedway. Rogers is currently in his fourth season as crew chief on the #20 NASCAR Nationwide Series entry for JGR. He led the team to JGR's first Nationwide Series Owner's Championship in 2008 amassing nine victories, six poles, 16 top-five finishes and 26 top-10 finishes despite utilizing four different drivers over the course of the season. The team has captured another five wins thus far this season under Rogers' leadership. He first joined JGR in 1998 and spent six seasons from 1999 to 2004 working under Greg Zipadelli with the #20 team, including the team's 2002 Championship season.

That didn't take long...

JD promised he would shake things up. He went from hero to zero in a hurry! Remember back when Dale Earnhardt or Rusty Wallace went an entire season without a win? There was some talk but nobody doubted you'd see them back in victory lane real soon. With all the money and sponsorships at stake, winning in the current season isn't even enough to keep your job. It's come so far from being about the competition on the track that it shouldn't even be called racing anymore.
communication must have been bad....lol its all in the communication
This change has nothing to do with wins and losses. There is something going on behind the scenes. Waiting to hear exactly what it is, but we may not know for a while if at all.
It's obvious, isn't it? Addington has told Gibbs that he is going to CC the 7 in 2010...watch for the announcement once the season has finished. With that, Robby will be able to swipe the budweiser sponsorship from RPM and start a 2nd full time car with newly availble Kevin Harvick. Kevin & Robby will go on to finish 1-2 in the chase, with Robby winning 13 races in one season.

It's so simple.....
