If I'm not mistaken..  Didn't Robby build that sandrail for him?

NOPE! That is a Suspensions Unlimited car. It has been said before on here that Robby has built cars for other NASCAR racers. To the best of my knowledge Robby's shop has never built a play car for any of the NASCAR guys. I know some of the NASCAR guys have bought sand cars in the past and maybe they asked Robby were to go, or Robby might have made some calls and lined up a shop to help them, but RG off-road has not been in the business to build play cars. Somewhere it was said that Robby built a car for Jeff Gordon. From what I heard Jeff used to own or had available to him a Tatum duel sport. The same car that Casy Mears has. I think Brendon Gaughns play car is also a Tatum, I know his class 1 car is. And Robby was friends with the owners of Suspension Unlimited as they helped when Robby needed extra fab guys on the Vanguard Hummer build.

So my guess is if a NASCAR racer wanted a buggy built Robby would send them to one of those two builders listed.
oh ok.. Well I remember a while back while watching speed during the prerace shows. They interview Biffle in front of his sandrail and it was mention that Robby did it.. Maybe I misunderstood them or they reported it wrong and Robby just assisted Biffle with getting it or designing it or seomthing like that.
I think one of Biffles first experiences in the desert was a trip with Robby. I know Robby has taken several people in NASCAR out to the desert with him, and I'm sure many have got the bug and now want there own toys. Biffles first sand car was a Funco air bag car. They are weird looking cars. This SU car is a much better car. A matter of fact over the Thanksgiving weekend when Robby was out playing in Glamis He was out there with my friend Justin Lofton and also hanging out with Robby was Matt Crafton and TJ Bell. I dont know if Matt or TJ have been out in the desert before this trip.
Justin lofton ? Never heard of the guy......lol
yeah.. I saw a cool article on this. Robby helped him put him put it together.

Crafton finally got one recently – albeit just the chassis. In the wake of his first career Truck series win last May at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Chevrolet helped supply an engine and Robby Gordon even provided a transmission. Crafton put the finishing touches on rebuilding his sand rail, and then it was time to put it to good use.

There you go! So Thanksgiving must have been the first trip back since Crafton fix his buggy.
Brendon's Class 1 was built by Kreger, Derek built my car as well - kregerfab.com. Robby has built three of his 4 seaters, 1 for himself and the other two were built for VERY close family friends as rollers and finished by Tatum. Casey Mears and Kyle Busch have Tatum cars though.
You are correct on Brenden's class 1 car. I dont know why I said Tatum, when I knew it was a Kreger! Brain fade I guess! Ryan do you know if Brenden's car still has the Xtrac? I heard they were probably going to pull it out and put something else in there. It seems like Armin has figured out the Xtrac in his Jimco BMW class 1 car, yet Brenden keeps having issues.
Brendan's car still has the Xtrac, a lot of the problems were R&P related. Issues have been resolved, but car is kind of a cluster F*** now that Kreger no longer preps it. Armin runs about 100hp less, so that could be part of the issue. Also, Armin has had more issues than they lead you to believe (read $$$). It's a really cool trans, but an Albins is what the new Kreger's are getting.
Kyle busch's tatum car is for sale on their website or at least it was last month, the last time i was on there.
Sweet Video... The were there this past Wednesday to Sunday... when they got there it was pissing down rain, I am glad to see it dried up. As far as the SU car, Greg got that chassis as a roller.. and finished it at his N.C. shop... set it up with that badass Roush/Yates motor paired to a Albins gearbox.. the first time he took the car out it handled like a dump truck.. I got the shocks from him and found out it had a truck valving in it.. got that taken care of with the correct valving.. then he needed more bite from the rear paddles.. so a nice set of 36in (not 37) sand blaster II cuts & Razors to match.. looks like its working good now... RG has no ties to Tatum...
If I remember right the first hummer had some tatum parts on it. Robby was in the shop a few times.
