Has anybody seen the November issue of Nascar Illustrated?  Kris Johnson did an Up-Front interview with Robby about what's happening in his career and his future plans. Robby said that he isn't closing and driving for someone else because he's invested so many years into what they have and he's in too deep. He has commitments to his people who have shown loyalty to him. He also said that he's mellowed with age but he still has that same passion when he puts the helmet on. He says."I'm still a mad man."

He says he has no regrets and if you look at his life, as wild and crazy as he is, there's no real drama behind the scenes. He says he has a kid (son, Max) and he doesn't regret that in any way, shape or form. He's never been in jail, never had DUI's. He says he's wild, but it's a controlled wild.

When asked if he was satisfied with being where he is, he says "I still want more, I want to win, I want to be competitive. I don't like being 35th in the points. Can I win a championship? I don't care to win a championship." He goes on to explain that if he had the proper budget and 100% effort behind it, he could win one. but he'd rather play with his Monster truck or go to Baja or Dakar. He

said "Why do I have to spend every weekend in Martinsville or Pocono when I can be in Argentina or Baja?"

When asked if his legacy was going to be along the lines of Sinatra's "I did it my way", he said:

"I don't even care about doing it my way. I just like to have fun and do what I do. We can't take this too serious. We race cars for a living. Let's get real. At the end of the day, we are an entertainment business. I realized that at a very young age and today we're still in the entertainment business, so I'm happy with the way it is right now."

Yup, great article, and now need to buy the magazine!
Great article and sounds like he is finding contentment in life.

Also, I'm finally catching up on the videos and caught lil Max in the latest episode. He is the cutest, most adorable child I've seen in a long time (since my sons were that age lol). Forget crew interviews -- give us more clips of that sweet lil angel. He completely brightened my day.
He says he just about entertainment but he still kicks off over the radio when things don't go well and seems very serious!!
