Robby Gordon Headquarters: Dakar, Desert & Domes

I know there are a lot of long-term Off-Road guys here, figured this could lead to an interesting discussion.

I did Wheaton, kept waiting for it to get better.....it didn't

My ear's glaz'd over pretty early

I watched about 2 min, then my attention was taken by things for important.....and it took forever.

I get what he is trying to do. Promoters have a vested interest in their racers. They promote them, and ultimately make money off their racers racing. It could be viewed as diminishing the value of the promoters 'product' if their 'product' was racing and thus available at other races, etc. So, I understand it, though think it is BS. As stated, it happened in the CART/IRL and WoO/NST battles we have seen. It is too bad. However, I hope SST rocks and all the great off road stadium/short course drivers race in the SST series so we can see them all competing together.

I know nothing about off road, but I'm learning here as we go. I watched the 1st 4 minutes and got distracted by the toilet running in my office....the glasses, never ever a good thing when talking to someone unless you're playing cards. I have never seen anyone, in any sport, tell the participants not to play elsewhere publicly like that (a whisper, or out back with the old rubber hose maybe), but like I said, I'm new to this...

@Dave, how this is normally done by promoters/track owner/s /operators/series is by have exclusive rules for said.I'll give you the biggest example there is.Na$crap, where else can you race a 'CUP' car? nowhere.NationWide? nowhere,Truck? nowhere.Only Nascar events.Built in exlusivity. LOORS doesn't have enough exculive rules so the talent and/or team owners cannot use their equipment in other series.I could type for hours giving you examples.

Pre-COT you could race Cup & NNS cars in ARCA, and you could still run a current K&N Pro Series car in ARCA (though with a few small changes here and there).

True, the COT car is a Nascar Trademark/property and therefore exclusive.

And that is what makes the SST format the answer to all this hulabaloo.

Perhaps someone close to the scene and fully abreast of how many gents there are that are capable of showing up at these types events. You know the pool of men that are the participants able to field an entry in either or both. As a round number 50 ? Also I would think the entries in such races as the Baja 500 or 1000 are filled with men who are not 365 racers so it would be unrealistic to reflect on an entry number for those and other high end events. In closing I admit I could have investigated the past races of both series and drawn from my research a conclusion about the numbers. however perhaps someone can say "Mike how come your post is not whacky but to answer your question there is + or teams that show every event here and + there". Back to the heat, I'm tarring my neighbors tires while she sleeps............this should be fun.

The numbers required for a CBS television contract are detailed in the video posted above. Perhaps both series can survive along with the new SST series, or only one will prevail in a limited television market. The reason Bob Patterson going all spunt monkey in this drivers meeting is that he sees a threat to his entry numbers coming from both the TORC series, as well as the new SST series. To answer an earlier question about why this discussion belongs on PR - all of this has to do with what series will prevail in attracting the sponsors, drivers, and most importantly to sponsors fans.
Now, Michael; Please spend some of your precious research time investigating your local ordenances concerning vandalism. Perhaps an animal cruelty charge may bring a lesser fine if you were to simply shoot her cat and stuff it in her mailbox?

hate crime?
