KOH Live Video Streaming - The Best I Have Ever seen

Has anyone noticed how great the live video streaming is for the KOH 2013? Anyone know what equipment they are using and the method (satellite/cell phone transmission etc)?
If so, pass the word to Norman (HDRA/SCORE), Casey (BITD), DAKAR, RG Motors or anyone else putting on these remote venues. It is about time that someone is getting it right!

AGREED great coverage - People wonder why dessert racing is not that big its because the live coverage sucks. Planet Robby does an amazing job but thats only for one great racer.

I'm sure Ultra 4 has rented a cell repeating tower and amplifier because if you look at the existing wireless coverage and nearest tower locations Johnson Valley is pretty much a dead zone. http://opensignal.com/

A lot of the great coverage is due to it being a MUCH smaller course in the USA in an area with great cell coverage. The qualifying track was only a couple miles long. Not Mexico or a 250+ mile course. But yes. Great coverage.

The KOH location in the Johnson Valley is excellent for setting up a repeater and pointing it to existing 4G towers in 29 Palms. Trying to do this in Baja would be cost prohibitive. Even in Parker you'd have to chain 3 - 4 towers with a couple of signal amplifiers to cover the entire course.

They probably used a company like iStream planet and rolled a truck out there to ingest, uplink, downlink and distribute through a CDN to the end users such ourselves.
