Dale Junior blew off the incident on television, but he was not happy with Vickers, who Junior claims forced him down while trying to block his advancement.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was pretty hot after the incident in which he and Brian Vickers tangled and triggered a hug pileup during Sunday's Daytona 500.

During a caution more than 20 laps later, Earnhardt radioed his crew and said, "Tell Vickers if he wants to meet me in the garage to get his ass beat, I'm willing."

After Earnhardt Jr climbed out of his Hendrick Motorsports Chevy, he let his emotions speak for themselves.

“I went to the bottom of him. Vickers drove me below the yellow line. He ran into me and sent me below the line…It was unfortunate man. If he wasn’t so damn reckless, we would have never had that problem. That would never happen. As far as I am concerned, it is all his responsibility,” said the exasperated driver.

As far as a penalty for his driving, Earnhardt Jr vehemently stated his opinion.

“Penalize me? For what? I got ran into and sent below the yellow line. What the hell? I don’t want to go down there. I got sent there. What the hell am I supposed to do? Then what am I supposed to do? Stay down there? No. I got to get back up on the racetrack,” he said.

Obviously, there are two very conflicting versions of the story, and fans and media members are quick to jump on the ‘blame Junior’ bandwagon. After all, Earnhardt Jr was already miffed with himself and NASCAR after two pit road penalties. Many fell that road rage got the best of him.

Bandwagon or no Bandwagon... I STILL blame JR...
he said that after Vickers brake checked him on the following restart and Jr. lost the draft.
Where's the wahmbulance?
Dale Jr was mad because Vickers didn't get out of his way. Jr's a self-entitled, spoiled little bitch with highly questionable driving ability. Another season and he won't feel like driving anymore, and he'll quit. He'd rather drink.
as long as it is BEAM thats fine with me
Have I mentioned that I don't like either Vicker or Jr.?
According to the rules, blocking is perfectly legal, as long as it is a block placed in one direction. (not weaving up and down the track, Vickers only made a block toward the inside) Wrecking someone intentionally is not legal. Case closed.

Nascar.com actually ran an article that said there shouldnt be ANY double file restarts anymore; apparently from a writer looking to blame anything but Jr for the wreck.

I want to see someone do the exact same thing at Talledega or the next Daytona race that does not have the last name Earnhardt. Again, Jr did something dumb, but I am questioning Nascars clear bias. Apparently Max Helton came over to the booth and told the TV announcers to stop condeming Jr. When the wreck first happened they were saying it was wrong and was intentional, time passes then all the sudden its just a "racing deal."

Nascar, WWE on wheels...
where did you hear that? that is very interesting that proves nascars bias.would love to see that printed somewhere.
That just racing rules in general. Every series allows at least one move to block, but some series state the driver can only make one move up or down. If they move back and forth, they will be warmed, then penalized.

I am unsure if Nascar has written rules on blocking, but I know for a fact Vickers did nothing illegal in any racing series rules book, Nascar included. People are saying he should not have blocked, but the point is he did not break any rules doing so. Junior on the other hand intentionally wrecked someone.

Listen to his interview when asked about intentionally wrecking Vickers. He doesnt say I didnt mean to take him out, he clearly says he didnt mean to take half the field out. The only ones debating if he did it on purpose or not are Jr. fans...
I think Brian was asking you about your assertion that Helton told the FOX guys to stop blaming Junior. In your post you make it sound like you have evidence that happened.
Ah, nah, I was just being comical. Darrell and Larry have said in the past that Max has come over and corrected them in regards to something they said live on TV.

I just find it odd how one minute they are condemning him, the next they say its no ones fault...
