STAGE 4 TRACKING

STAGE 4: SAN JUAN > CHILECITO

Connection 211km | Special Stage 657km | Total 868km

COURSE OVERVIEW

The strategy of the motorcyclists will come into play: initially their navigational skills will be seriously tested at the beginning of the morning, and then they will be faced with the problem of worn tyres, as they have already been over-used the day before. As for the drivers of cars, they will have an even more demanding route to tackle in the countryside. The Dakar’s competitors haven’t faced a special stage this long since the historical one from Zouerat to Tichit in 2005! They will have to cross rivers, descend the canyons in a Wild West setting and beware of the other participants: as these terrains are often wide open, it will be entirely possible to overtake fellow competitors.

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

What a tuff special to navigate today!

Need help. I have clicked on stop following me when people reply, but I keep getting them in my email. Had to delete 300 today. Any way to stop that?

My setting/email/ look at check boxes

on top, just below the part where you write the comment, there is a check to follow and no matter you arrive solved more e

Any idea on if the HST-when it does run without any problems- is a better design in this rally compared to teh old Hummer ? Some videos show the HST turning a corner like a 4WD. Unlike the Hummer which was tailhappy all the time.

thats because larger wheel base = more oversteer. And should behave more "compact" in twisted sections. I do miss the tailhappy hummer.

That was the whole point of building this truck, wasn't it? First race, there's bound to be gremlins to work through. And a short wheelbase makes for a more nimble handling vehicle, which it appears to be.

Check Point to check point RG lost time consistanlty to Sainz in like 5 minute increments. It took Ali Taya about one hour to pass RG

alibaba has 10 cars in top 10 with spares he can run nasser the mini and still finish

My point is this Stage with the HSt does not show the dominance RG enjoyed with the olde Hummer last year from stage 4 on

Its day 4. A little patience and we'll know.
