COURSE OVERVIEW
It was a painful experience for many competitors when they discovered the area last year. At the beginning of the special stage, the dunes follow one another, each one like the next, strung out in a never-ending desert capable of unsettling the best technical specialists. In the opposite direction, Stéphane Peterhansel and “Nani” Roma, both of whom are masters when it comes to crossing dunes, each lost almost fifteen minutes there, and risked missing out on the first two places of the overall standings. And the level of difficulty will be even more demanding this year! During the crucial stage of the first week, the rally will be even tougher for motorcyclists: they will quail on a 2-km slope, of which the gradient will put the descent of Iquique on a par with a gentle children’s slide.

At least he's moving.......thats a very good thing
Thru WP 3 looks like it's really limping... there's not gonna be a bunch of time tonight to get it throughly fixed. But, knowing the crew, they'll work until it's time to go tomorrow.
Is he going to help Sainz when he gets to him? J/K
Hey Carlos,
How'd ya like to drive a Hummer next year & work with a teammate?
Even if the car is ok, it makes sense to take it easy now, the rally is lost, wining stages, staying up with the big guys and bother Peterhansel till the end must be the plan now ;-)
True, but Robby will keep driving hard to try to win as much stages as possible. Just nurse it home!
Sainz just made it in wonder if VIGOUROUX help him get in came in almost at same time
Did the #550 Michel BouCou go out to help RG before his scheduled start time and then loop back to start the stage? It's strange that he is just now showing up on the tracker passing WP1 3hr30 down about 50KM behind RG. If so, what commitment and self-sacrifice from the BouCou crew.
nope he would of have to start 1st then help
kind of like Robby with JC yesterday
Sainz has finished, 2 hours 36 minutes back. Vigouroux beat him though, back only 2 hours 21 minutes!
