STAGE 5 TRACKING

STAGE 5: SAN SALVADOR DE JUJUY > UYUNI

Connection 315km | Special Stage 327km | Total 642km

COURSE OVERVIEW

All round vigilance is required for this second part of the marathon stage: in addition to managing mechanics, particularly the tyres, all the drivers will have to pay attention to their own bodies’ reactions. Entry into Bolivia is also marked by an abrupt increase in altitude, rising to 4,600m –the higher point in Dakar’s story- during the day’s special section. Technically, it is also in this stage that the rally steps up a gear, with the first off-piste sections as well as some navigational gems which might be a headache for some navigators…

The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

RG did forget to shake the president's hand, ha... It's a little sad the bad Bolivian director blew the interview with RG on the ramp and cut away to random dust shots.

I'm not sure we know that, lots of cutting away during the coverage

RG did not have the white lei on they were giving them when they met El Presidente when he got back in the G.

Despres didn't even get out of the pug

You are right Mike. They cut away so maybe he did prior to when they came back... The coverage totally missed the interview which was unfortunate for us...
He did have the lei on and then kind of unceremoniously took it off and threw it in the Gordini, ha...

PARTY , I well bring the RG hot sauce and the PBR
Got 2 new jars in the mail today
I didn't a sticker , I want a sticker damit

How would Gordini 3 look with a Zebra paint job?

According to Jayski.com Chich is already on the team!

Robby Gordon once again in Dakar Rally: Former NASCAR driver Robby Gordon is once again competing in the Dakar Rally. Gordon is part of a three-vehicle Team Speed operation sponsored by Toyo Tires. The other two drivers on the team are veteran Guerlain Chicherit and 2015 Stadium SUPER Truck champion, Sheldon Creed, who at 18 years old, is the youngest driver in Rally history. The 13-day, 5,739 mile off-road race, which winds through Argentina and includes two segments in Bolivia, was slated to kick off Sunday Buenos Aires.
