STAGE 3 TRACKING
STAGE 3: PISCO > NAZCA
Connection 100km | Special Stage 243km | Total 343km
Tempers are likely to flare inside the vehicles, as the level of stress increases. The recently formed pairs will have passed a major test during the first one hundred kilometres. The South Americans have adopted the term “Erg”, which accurately describes the sequence of dunes that they will have to negotiate in the small hours. All the competitors who go over them without getting stuck, including those in the lead, will be able to proudly breathe a sigh of relief. Their first reward will be to take advantage of the route along the seafront on the second half of the special stage. But the respite will be short-lived, as the tracks they will take at the end of the stage will also require skill and vigilance.
RED is the special section, GREEN is the connection.
Car stage Stage begins at 10:11am
The Downhill Section looks like a cliff
Early is good! It makes me really miss the North Africa race and the all nighters.
I like early too.. nobody around to bother me. But I still believe we're Zulu -5...
If running on local time that's correct. http://www.timeanddate.com/time/map/
@TOG, I don't think that the GMT-3 is correct, I've seen GMT-5 on the same page. While in Peru it should be GMT-5=EST
So Mike, we're westcoasters whats our start time ? Early is GOOD!
5:11 PST and what time for chat?
So it says that the start for Cars will be at 10:11 EST (subject to change) so... That'd be 7:11 PST.
If RG will be starting 13th tomorrow, he will begin exactly half an hour after the first car.. so using this logic @ 10:41 EST or 7:41 PST for you Mr. Savage.
Thanks Kevin, I was going by the first paragaraph on this thread , it says 8:11 est only it says stage 2 I thought stage 2 might have been a misprint.
Thanks for the the PST info!
The DSS is right at the bivouac, they will not be starting bikes 2 hrs. before sunrise.
