Join in and discuss all the action from Stage 7 of the 2012 Dakar Rally. Robby Gordon finished 2nd in stage 5 & Nasser Al Attiyah finished 11th. Cars begin stage 7 at 7:56am/et (9:56am local). COURSE OVERVIEW

The loop will be the biggest challenge of the week, although the beginning of the special stage, which will travel along tracks in the middle of the hills and cacti, might appear easy. But afterwards, the strain of the kilometres covered since Mar del Plata will begin to take their toll, exactly at the time when a great number of dunes will follow one after another. The last string of dunes to be crossed, so near and yet so far from the finish, may well resemble a bivouac which has been transported to the middle of the desert. Thankfully for the latecomers who pitch their tents, the regulations allow vehicles to be presented until 6 pm on the rest day.

The Hummers are doing great I do believe we will be 1&2 on the Podium, as for you who said the Mini's would not be strong you must not have been watching last season. A lot of racing still to go, we need to have a big lead coming out the dunes because when we hit the Flats and the WRC racing still again our lead will be picked away.

Not so sure about that... Stage 1 Robby would have won if he hadn't stopped to tow Nasser... that was somewhat WRC style... But I agree with you, it would make things more comfortable if we had a reasonable lead coming out of the desert..

Couple of questions. Why is it that RG can't put the Speed logo on the Hummer, but Quinn Cody had it all over his helmet? And, is Nassar sponsored by Burn Energy Drink? I noticed in the interview his navigator was wearing Burn logo'd stuff and flashing a Burn bottle. Get those guys some Speed! If they're not sponsored, and can't where Speed logo's, ask them to at least not support the competition.

Robby had the speed logo on today. Fuel is what they are going to call speed in Argentina so Robby, on his own, rebranded the hummer in Argentina. Nasser is a Red Bull guy and Luc is a Burn guy. The check Qatar wrote makes up for any conflict! Notice there is a Freem logo on the 300 too. That's Nasser's firesuit brand. Robby wears a Simpson so money talks
