Join us for the Dakar Rally's fourth day on Jan 6, 2009 , right here and chat about the action during the 4th stage.Robby sits in 9th overall, only 34 minutes from the lead.

Stage 4 - Tuesday, January 6
Jacobacci > Neuquen
Connection: 4 km | Special: 459 km | Connection: 25 km | Total: 488 km
At the start of this stage, the rocky passageways will make heavy demands on the arms of motorcyclists, while those who are accustomed to “wadis” will be obliged to negotiate the Argentinian “rios” with the same careful attention. Next, the first sandy portions and the long kilometers of off-road will thrill those who love driving them. Careful now! Mistakes can begin to be costly: the stage toward Neuquen has all the ingredients of a trap. By taking on more or less of a lead, the favorites can begin to show themselves and provide indications of a ranking that just might last.

They are running through the pack of Quads now.
Despite his troubles the other day, it looks like Alphand could get back around RG by the end of this stage....
anyone get the live feed at http://www.watchlivef1.com/ ?
dose it cost $ to join?
looks like $10 bucks for the year, may be interesting for F1
It don't look good he must have lost more time.
he is 9th out of 10 cars through 368km and is now 6:19 back...
RG 6min back....how much time can he make up this last section
not 6 minutes

If he hangs between 8th and 10th for the stage....finishes within 10 minutes of the leader for the stage....thats about what I'm hoping for here....
what is it?? tracker is showing me 6min 19 sec after the 368Km
Yeah, he's just over 6 minutes back and 9th on time at 368.

Peterhansel actually lost a lot of time between 310 and 368 so maybe RG can catch him on time for the stage.

But, Depping lost almost no time between 310 and 368, so he might catch RG for the stage.

So a finish between 8th and 10th....unless one of the fast cars has some real trouble, is about what we're looking at.

And if RG can keep the spread under 10 minutes for the stage, thats about what we can hope for, as being a successful day.
We'll be ok some intresting terrain still to come
