STAGE 5: Copiapo > Antofagasta

Connection 90 km | Special Stage 483 km | Connection 97 km | Total 670 km

Course Overview

The area has a reputation for its density in gold and copper mines. And that will be the theme of the hard day the competitors will witness on the road to Antofagasta, as demanding physically as it will be mentally. The open but rocky tracks of the first part of the day won't leave the slightest respite in terms of staying focused. And the off-road portions that follow will request solidity at all points of view: it is indeed here that the competitors will have to battle it out in the fesh-fesh, known on this continent as 'guadal'. At the end of this stage where changes in pace will be numerous; the notion of endurance will start to have its real significance. The less cautious will have already committed mistakes.

It is a Mercedes Benz Race Truck not the MAN he used to use.
May be a comeback!,

Does show as withdrawn but now on the course and through km 123, shown 3h 33m in 45th place. Perhaps an overeager euro pulled the plug on the boys. Let's hope the old Mercedes has enough in the tank to complete the course this year!
Per RacingOne on RDC.

Robby's Race Truck # 528 has passed KM 123 in 45th place 3:33 behind the leader in the trucks.

So is it out or is the truck still in?
Still Going!

They have made it to km138, 3h 47m back!

BTW, that is 43 of 45 trucks in the overall, they are still a couple hours up on 459 and 440
Eurotrash!
BJs in. 12th which should hold, he was 8 minutes ahead of the next guy and didn't lose much last section. A good day for the Last 2 SCORE champs.
Two top 5's in a row. On pace to better the overall results of 2009.
Amen brother!
