STAGE 2 TRACKING
STAGE 2: VILLA CARLOS PAZ > SAN JUAN
Connection 107km | Special Stage 518km | Total 625km
COURSE OVERVIEW
Any rest will be short-lived, because before reaching San Juan, the competitors will have a particularly busy schedule: quite simply the longest special stage in the rally, which is varied enough to unsettle even the most experienced of drivers. Hard terrain at the start of the race will be followed by dusty sections in the middle of the day and a sandy stretch to finish. This is the first real test, which can only be successfully overcome through constant vigilance.
The GREEN section of the route is the connection , the RED is the Special Section of the stage.

Any chance they will throw this stage out? Didn't the ASO do that a couple of years ago when a bunch of cars couldn't or didn't finish?
Only partly kidding. In 2013 they did cut a stage in half and gave everyone the same E.T. It was due to flooding. If memory serves, Robby and a few others made it across and Nasser didn't. If half the field of cars is out, who knows what the ASO will do......
I think that was when rains caused river flooding - The first arrivals got across, but the water continued to rise and late starters simply could not get over.
IMO they didnt test in glamis climbing dunes and making the car work extra hard pushing it to the limit we cannot be finding limits during the race those minis and toyotas got their cooling down. Testing IN GLAmis would be perfect because lack of air flow super soft sand and hill climbing plus the sand relects sun rays and heat from the ground making extra hot ambient like we saw today, no doubt we see a modified hood scoop during the rally
@Ivan, do you know what the conditions where at Parker this last summer when they tested for a couple of weeks?
now down to the bottom `....
tomorrow will be for sure another looong day for team speed crawling up and fight the clock back .
GO ROBBY !!!!
