Stage 13 - Friday, January 16

La Rioja > Cordoba

Connection: 161 km | Special: 545 km | Connection: 47 km | Total: 753 km

After having swallowed thousands of kilometers, participants will face a first-class physical challenge in this next-to-the-last stage. State-of-the-art pilots must maintain their position, while amateurs must avoid an excess of confidence. Errors can leave bitter memories, since this will be the day of cacti. At the bivouac, doctors will no doubt be called on to wield the tweezers. Finally, for the experts of traditional rallies, certain routes are part of the patrimony of the World Cup that takes place every year in Cordoba. Here, aficionados will guarantee a large popular fiesta.

Good morning peoples!! How is everyone in Robbyland!?
Pissy and cynical!! thats a great combo!!! I would think that goes without saying!!
We are such a pitiful bunch... me included. Ever since Robby has been running the Dakar, he's had team orders, camel grass, and a myriad of other 'issues' to stymie him. We all know that compared to the other teams, he is running at a handicap but Team Dakar USA has overcome that handicap in spades! Here we are, grousing because it will be difficult to make up time against the VWs -- which it will be.

But folks, unless the unthinkable happens, (throwing that in there to appease the karma) WE WILL HAVE A PODIUM FINISH!

We all (the whole Planet) would have given their first-born for that in the past.

Let us not wallow in despair, but rather celebrate what at one time appeared to be unattainable.

*getting down off soapbox now*
We just want a fair chance to race 'em. We're a little pissed.
I hear, I concur. And I know that if we did have a fair chance to race 'em, we would definitely prevail. In the words of our Icon - "It is what it is."
Only 802 km to the podium, what's wrong with that.....
It is what it is.....

I too like the Overall Win, but what we're really looking at is our second Dakar victory in the Open Class and 3rd overall.

And that's a pretty frickin' HUGE accomplishment from where I stand.
EXACTLY!
Word.
Are they waiting for the bikes to finish b4 they start the cars?
They are starting soon right?
just a slight delay while the VW prerunners report back to the ASO which sections to take out...
